Show Your Latest 1:400 Purchase

Two versions of B-6998. The Kung Fu Panda version represents one of my few Phoenix 787s while the all red version is by JC Wings and a new arrival yesterday. Interestingly, while the model was released in 2017, and the aircraft wore this all-red colour for less than a month before delivery, the Panda decals were removed in mid-2019 and the aircraft has now flown for far longer without them than it has with them!

Here's an obscure one and only my 3rd ATL-98 Carvair (out of 8 models made). Ansett acquired a pair of real DC-4s (ex-SAS and then JAL) in 1964 as VH-INJ and INK and had both converted to ATL-98s by Aviation Traders in 1965. They also acquired a single C-54 (ex-USAF, Pan Am and JAL) in 1965, which became VH-INM. This third frame went for conversion to Carvair in 1968 and would be the final conversion undertaken. Upon return all 3 served with Ansett on cargo routes until early 1973.

I recently acquired this 2007 made 400 scale version of VH-INJ (albeit missing the large aerial) and I think it may be the only release that was ever branded as 1stChoice400 Models.

While searching for something else I just noticed that the Wings900 db also has 1st Choice in the list of manufacturers and they have 14 aircraft models plus some accessories listed for this brand: https://www.wings900.com/modeldatab...=Sorter_Aircraft&modelsDir=&modelsPageSize=25

Edit: alright, I see my mistake now, all other aircraft models are 1:200, the ATL-98 is the only 1:400 model.

Surprisingly I forgot to post this here but my latest arrivals from a few weeks ago were these Mad Dogs from Gemini's July releases. Both are lovely however I view the Deltaflot one as more stunning considering it's the first to be done in 400 scale. I'm surprised Dragon Wings didn't get to that subject when they were around!

I forgot to share my latest arrival - a small seaplane whose tip was detached during transit but it was a quick fixing job - introducing US Navy Consolidated PBY-5A Catalina by Herpa. I am happy with the purchase - considering its good price tag.
