Show Your Latest 1:400 Purchase (Shattered Dreams)

I may be unlucky.. but how is it that I can almost bet 2 to 3 out of 5 GJ’s I buy still come with problems?
I've always had the feeling that when a retailer starts to feel that a customer is making excessive returns, that instead of telling them, they simply start to ship out more and more models with QC issues in a passive aggressive attempt to make them shop elsewhere. Psychologically, it works, and for the retailer, they can simply blame USPS, FedEx, etc.

Edit: Not pointing any fingers, but just an observation from personal and others' experiences with collectors I've chatted with.

I chatted with a retailer at a show and pointed out broken stabilizers and paint chips on a Gemini 200 UAL 727 that he had in stock and he asked me if I wanted to buy it and I politely told him I would rather find one in better condition. He offered to just glue it back together and sell it to me and that most come with those problems and that he has given up and just sells them as is no matter the condition.

Wow. I guess "Gemini Kits" era is back?!
Honestly I don’t think it is. I mean, it’s just gear, super easy to fix. Recently GJ has really seemed to improve on broken models, though sometimes their moulds can be a little iffy it’s not as bad as people make it out to be. Throughout my time collecting mostly Gemini Jets, I’ve only had a few broken models, all of which were either older GJ releases or broke a long time after I bought them.

It’s easy to fix when the whole gear falls out… In both cases provided the gear is snapped in half and it’s challenging to get the base out of the socket without scratching the model. Since both purchases were from waffle, Gemini Jets won’t provide me with spare parts.

I see… this just happened last night with an old Dragon release of mine. Though I do think it’s fixable, it’s not a perfect solution for the gears rather than if they popped out.

I do understand others may not have the same bad luck as me... But if all is equal, I can assure you I don't run into nearly as many issues with other brands.
