I'd also add that the AFR A340 is a great pick - there hasn't been a modern release in quite a while! So this is great.
Just wondering, now with NG's around the corner............

I'll definitely try to grab the AF A340 and maybe the Korean A350 if I can't get one of the other versions (we all know it's a matter of time before somebody else announces it...).

PH's contract with GJ ended more than a decade ago. Also the boss of PH is a lady so I think you misunderstood with someone else about the ig story

Thanks for pointing out that there was a misunderstanding. My head was hurting trying to make sense out of these comments. I have heard of cousins getting married, but not siblings.

Understandable too, as the moment they re-release it it kinda made the first release value-less already…

Like I said, Phoenix has done a number of re-releases recently. As I understand, the Iberia A340s have done very well on every run. Also, while not Phoenix, Aeroclassics is another example with some of their A300s, etc. I think they could probably get away with yet another Viasa run and it will still be an instant sellout.

There is a dilemma here:

Why should a brand care about killing the value of the first releases?

If the second-hand market is hot for a certain model, why would a brand let eBay scalpers capitalize on it when they can capture the market with a rerelease? This also benefits the collectors that are on the buying side of the fence...

... but it hurts the ones that are trying to sell, which is the other side of the argument.

Are these models high-value collectibles, or mass-produced consumer items? I think they started out as the former, but have morphed into the latter as a result of mass-production in the Far East. Large-scale factories and rare items don't go well in the same sentence. It is one of the existential crises of this hobby.

No it's not in your head. The PHX A350 isn't great

Even though its not the best mould I will still get this for the fleet collection, with this release, the NGs, and the ARD version my 350K fleet will be up to 8

Yeah the fleet collection is the only reason I’m buying this. Not sure how many I have but I suspect it’s the same

Ive managed to pickup XWBA/XWBH from AV400 and XWBB/XWBC from Gemini, waiting for those ARD Exclusives to arrive and the NG trio to be announced
