Frankly, the PHX MD-80 is far superior to the GJ/JC - the PHX Snoopy nose is way way closer to the real and far more visually pleasant than GJ/JC's sloppy Goofy-like snout, worsened by that concave indent just behind the nosecone.......

Some recent Phoenix MD-80s. Not too bad and indeed better than GJ/JC. Check out how the China Northern livery greatly improves the look of the nose.

In addition to the many things we've also been discussing on this thread, PHXs A320/A321s are better than Gj/JC's, as you rightly mention.
As an overall finished product - in terms of finish, finesse and feel, and how they display, they're probably just behind NG's & Panda Models (imo - I don't rate the ACs highly anymore - not in 2025)

Additionally, their retail price is super competitive - looking at Asia and using MHH as reference. They're priced usually 12-15-20pc below NG's offerings, that - added to their subject topicality, current-ness, diversity, they are much sought after, and explains the persistent success of PHXs business model - at least as viewed from the outside as a collector.

similarly for the MD-80s - NG's are around 185-200 MYR, GJ/JC's inferior ones at 175-180 MYR (unbelievable), PHXs - the second best in the market right now, are at 155 MYR!

So in that sense it's a great product for its price setting - affordable, but doesn't look cheap and toy like. Same argument for their widebodies.

Thai A320 for me. I was hoping that NG might have released this during their Thai release frenzy, but it looks like that ship may have sailed now.
