Perennial Question - What is Your Rarest 1:400 Model in Your Collection?

Not sure if I am the first to ask on this new forum, what do you consider to be your rarest model in your collection, a question asked and answered many times across the other forums and yes I accept it's a subjective/market view but if we were to narrow the criteria to the limited production and sample models, excluding custom models, what would yours be, again by limited numbers?

Allow me to start, mine would be the Peewee's PAMC PAA Boeing 741 N733PA with the corrected "Moscow Express" titles, one of 6 corrected in a run 96 with a title printing error.

This question can have a lot of answers depending on what criteria you’re looking for. Since you’re going based off production numbers and sample models, my thinking is that it would have to be one of my Aeroclassics models. I would have to dig a little deeper to get a more specific answer but I imagine it’ll be one of those.

For ME its a hard one IT'S the
Aeroclassics EL AL 747 4X-AXZ in the Avianca hybrid or the Olympic Airways 747 SX-OAA

I have a few rare models in my collection like my Westjet Q400,Flair 737MAX8, and My air Canada Express collection has some rare finds. most my rare stuff is 1:200 like my Delta 737-700 and WestJet 737-700, I also have the air Canada TCA retro A220.

Here’s my rarest, and I feel like this is based on the price value and times I’ve seen it on eBay in the last 5 years. Only 3 times to be exact. Aeroclassics 1/400 USPS 727-100. Last fetched $235.00 USD on eBay.

Mine have to be a set of BigBird400 Philippine Airlines B.747-200’s which have the corrected “pp” printing in the titles, on the regular version (N742PR) and the “Mahubay Chicago” version (N741PR). As I understand it, either 6 or 25 pieces of each were made.

The production of these models in 2005 featured an error with the alignment of the letters “pp” in the text, resulting in the unfortunate “PhiliPPine Airlines”, which later appeared on an Aeroclassics A300 and more recently, the B.727-100 release, which must mean the old erroneous BB400 artwork is still on file!

For me it is probably my NG Qantas 787-9 Yam Dreaming. It is the sample model, I am not sure how many were made, but they rarely pop up for sale. This is nothing compared to what other shave though! 4752A7A4-2C56-438D-B954-146FA8C278F5.jpeg

For me..(without knowing the actual production numbers which were no longer published starting around 2008), it would most likely be my Aeroclassics Eastern DC-9-51 N413EA...only 168 pieces were made.

I don't have many rare models in my fleet as I started collecting relatively recently, but there is one I can think off the top of my head: the Delta CRJ900 2021 release. Everyone would remember the calamity brought by the March 2021 release, and I am grateful to be one of the lucky individuals to get one.

Besides that, I recently scored a 2001 American 767 that is on its way to me right now, which I consider quite a rare grab.

Very nice! Hopefully if GJ releases the Delta E175 it will not cause the same calamity! 🤞 The AA 767 will sure be nice too!

It better not... I think it's safe to say we all are beyond tired to deal with another one of those preorder debacles! :)

Very excited to see the 767 indeed! I haven't ordered a 767 for a while so this will be a good one.

It's hard to determine which one is the rarest in my collection. Maybe I can devide into each brand, starting with Phoenix: Air Greenland A330-200 20220928_215501.jpg

Honestly not too sure which is the rarest model I have but I'd probably say my JC China Eastern MD-11 which was my first 1:400 model. Haven't seen any for sale online since I bought it in December 2020 from SMS (only one in stock they had) and I haven't found really any info on it which is why I think its quite rare.
