NG Models PSA Tristar official photos - Best Release of the Year?

The Ten-Eleven is perhaps the most beautiful widebody commercial aircraft to have ever flown - and also way ahead of its time, technologically, comfort-wise, Design-wise, everything literally.

This, and the VC-10 which is perhaps the most beautiful narrow body ever, with the 757 a close second.

Groundbreaking aircraft, beautifully proportioned and designed, at the cutting edge, what more could one ask for.

Commercial success is not a measure in an industry driven by politics, financial muscle, and what-not

Did you fly on the L-1011? The most I did was catch glimpses of them at MIA. I can't even remember the airline, I just disctingly remeber looking at what I labeled as a combo between a DC-10 and a 727 (because of the #2 S duct). Later I got to see more, but as freighters for Kalitta.

I may get this one, classic, historical, and a unique model. Not exactly in my criteria, though.

BRO! 😎 I flew on the L-1011 as a kid and that is why it is my favorite plane. By the 90s, the plane in Delta’s fleet had lost some of its glamour though. They had retrofitted the interior to have 9-across compared to the original 8-across some time ago and put in center overhead bins as carry-on luggage had become more prevalent. I still loved it anyway and Delta back then was pretty ratty in the years before and after Ron Allen’s departure.

It’s not crazy in my criteria at all, I really wasn’t going to get this one….BUT after seeing the photos it just looks gorgeous…rip my wallet because this one’s probably coming home now

I finally did it on Black Friday this year and grabbed this model. I don’t have any other 1970s era aircraft that would make sense next to it other than this Alaska 727, which flew for them in 1974/75 luckily enough. Enjoy some fun mostly period accurate photos of it!
