NG Model January 2025 Release Hints

Appears quite a few of these releases have hit many retailers now. I guess the other half or so won’t make it before CNY..?

NG has updated the colours on both of the Aer Lingus a320 it’s looking much better now 😄. Sadly the name of EI-DEI is spelt st.Conrelius with the R and N switched around but it’s no big deal 🤩

On top of the usual releases for this month, they have announced some re-releases (re-stock kinda) of the AA MD-83s.

[New Arrival] 83001 American Airlines MD-83 N589AA (new mould first launch) (2025.01)
[New Arrival] 83002 American Airlines MD-83 N9620D (new mould first launch) (2025.01)
[New Arrival] 83003 American Airlines MD-83 N984TW (Formerly TWA "Spirit of Long Beach") (2025.01)

Full pics on their instagram now.

Super happy as I didn't get in on the first round! Definitely will be picking up one, maybe two eventually.

I don't know if it's on purpose (or maybe it's a little bit nitpicking from my side), but I noticed that on more recent NG A350 releases the nose gear is pointed more backwards. On earlier releases it used to be more forward or straight down.

Looking at reference photos slightly backwards seems to be correct.

Indeed, it looks better now

I’m more concerned about the cockpit windows being printed too short. The cockpit of the real aircraft is elongated. Just me?

Good point - looks like It's the photo angle on the real thing as it's more frontal (you can see the starboard engine) - we'll need to check with two photos from the same angle / position relative to the aircraft

Nice to see NG improved the 777 fuselage by adding APU details and correcting the nose and cockpit section shape.

However the cockpit windows is worse than ever. It was too small, now its too big.
Actually, the two front windows are correct but the space between the others is too large and should be corrected

Hope its not the case on CX OneWorld too

Note to self - don’t preorder NG anymore. Best moulds but damn, when they tweak something and it’s off, it’s really a disaster (e.g. Southwest colors, these cockpit windows, the 747 nose shape, etc.)

Maybe it’s just me but the same thing happened with the A35k. The A359 windows look better now but the 1000 windows look like they’re printed too high, similar to Gemini jets

Noticed that too. Remember the Southwest Maryland One 737-700? The cockpit windows were way too exaggeratedly large and elongated.
Sometimes the changes are less conspicuous, but I'm not sure why it's so difficult to keep the printing the same when it's correct OR updating the printing/molds correctly on the first try.

All the money they use to release random molds (e.g. that new kid mold) and generate models for the CRP program can be used to sample changes on test models so that they are made correctly before being put on the market. Now people who pre-ordered a model are stuck with the flaws and these models aren't cheap.

I thought I was the only one. I have no idea why they changed the printing on the A35K when it was practically perfect before, it's basically thrown me off future A35K releases.
