NG Model 1:400 February 2026 Release Hints

I didn’t vote in this election so I didn’t vote for this outcome 😆 talk to the 156 million Americans that turned out for the election.

I agree on it being very mature, but calling it “boring” is quite subjective. Beyond just the 8 or 9 current airlines, you could have tons of the defunct small commuter airlines, local service carriers, and older representation of the trunk airlines. Granted that doesn’t cater to a wider audience, but the point I’m making is there’s a lot more to be done in this market than the current operators. And with 3D printing taking off the way it is, there’s a good chance we could see options not thought possible with diecast come to life, be it from a manufacturer like 3D Design Deck or someone’s custom model making.

I apply the same to the China market too — I’m sure there’s a lot of options over there, that NG hasn’t tackled yet, that collectors would love to see. I wouldn’t be as upset with them if they were diversifying beyond what seems like the same airlines they tend to do over there — Xiamen being the biggest one (I understand there’s a licensing deal they have with them). As for the 3D printing side of things I have no idea what the market is like over there, but if it is flourishing I’m sure there’s a lot of unfulfilled dreams over there too.

I’ve been pretty happy with Gemini’s output lately, especially their latest release. But there’s always that chase for new stuff that’s going on as a collector. Some of the newer collectors want a rerelease of a popular subject, while others like myself want something new to the table. For collectors who want the highest quality option, GJ is not it — that’s why you see a lot of American collectors upset at the NG situation. I’m not asking for them to shift back overseas, as even just a couple really good subjects they’ve never done before (Frontier NEOs and Allegiant are really good examples!) every couple of months would make us happy. I don’t think that’s an unrealistic expectation.
I agree with this. in my book if NG did like three United rereleases and releases I would be happy. Same goes for the multiple ANA’s that need making

I Personally Don’t think that the US is a boring market. There are a lot of cool planes flying here (757’s, 767 as two examples) that don’t see service in many other places. I personally grew up only seeing little regional jets and that taught me to see the good in US mainlines and regional aircraft. A lot of other collectors are like me in that way, especially people who are a tad younger and lived near a smaller airport. I still think the modern US market isn’t very boring. Though I do miss the 2010s and 2000’s US carriers like AirTran and others, i enjoy the modern too.
You're showing your age here ;)

As much as the 757 is one of my favourite aircraft suggesting it is something unusual is a stretch! There are also more (or maybe the same number of) airline 757 operators in China than the USA nowadays.

The US market is boring because of the number of airlines caused by the huge market consolidation over the past 25 years. Not because of the aircraft they fly. Arguably all modern twinjets are boring :ROFLMAO:

About the variety of US planes for NG to make? There’s a surprising amount. China may have more airlines, but the US still needs models made and/or rereleased for a lot of the carriers.

Let’s go through examples.

-Literally any Alaska mainline aircraft, the 737’s are very difficult to get in a STANDARD livery.
-The Alaska 787-9
-United A319, A320, rereleases of the 757-200
-United and Delta 767-400’s
-All the classic 747’s
-AirTran 737
-American A319 and A320 rereleases
-Delta A321ceo
-An abundance of the world’s largest cargo operators (UPS, DHL, FEDEX)
-Avelo 737’s
-Reno Air MD80
-PSA MD80
-Frontier MD80

There’s plenty more. NG has lots of models that have extremely high demand among North American collectors. Even within Asia there are carriers that still need to be covered.

-ANA
-JAL (not just the A350)
-Singapore Airlines
-Asian regional carriers like Bangkok Air, Citilink, Batik Air and narrowbodies for Garuda
-smaller Chinese carriers like Spring Air, and larger ones like Air China, which seems to see less releases
-other airlines like Aero K, JinAir, Qantas, Air New Zealand
-Air Tahiti Nui, Fiji Airways, MIAT, etc
Thats just the US and Asia/Pacific…

Europe is the same way, and don’t get me started at the lack of releases from my homeland, Canada.
I don't disagree but you're missing the point. I was specifically talking about contemporary aircraft not classics and for all the subjects you just selected you can do the same for any market, including China! NG probably doesn't care about high demand in a market that it is risky to sell into, has trade barriers and lower demand than its own market.
I do agree that tariffs are ruining it too though… it’s not entirely NG’s fault, but regardless of price, people seem to buy NG either way.
That also doesn’t explain other regions.
It does explain the other regions. Economic instability has cascaded throughout the globe due to the USA. When that happened NG ran home to mummy. That impacted everyone.

Yes, I represent more younger collectors that have popped up in recent times.

I do think Chinese releases are needed, just not more Xiamen. Like you mentioned, the Shenzen 737 and other similar models would be great to see. I specifically would love to see Spring Airways.

(Also by 757 I meant mostly the very rare -300, and the fact that mostly US airlines operate passenger flights with the 757)

I also agree, it’s more boring with all this airline consolidation and all the airlines merging. Since AA and TWA merged it’s gone downhill. But still, I do enjoy a lot of modern US airlines.

I also want this period of economic instability to end… but it’s likely getting worse after the events of the past few days.
Hopefully NG will one day get into the other markets i mentioned again like before, but the US is a long shot. At least another ~3 years until that point…

Delta 321ceo is still relatively obtainable to the last I checked, although it may have changed

Alaska 789 was leaked by Diecast Airplane Store, should be coming soon

Otherwise, I mostly agree with you

As an African collector, don’t even get me started. NG has yet to make any models for Africas largest airlines that would be decently good sellers. Here are some examples:

-The entire Royal Air Maroc mainline fleet (738, B38M, 787, & 789)
-Almost all of the Egyptair fleet (I believe the star alliance A332 is the only thing they’ve done. This leaves the 320, 21neo, A333, 738, 77W, 789, and now their new 359s)
-Ethiopian 788, B38M, 738, 77L
-The entire Air Algerie fleet

All of these airlines are the largest in Africa and have not even had a lot of their fleets released. I can only say Ethiopian has got the most love (hence why I have an ADD airport), but still half the fleet is still missing. I can claim that I am the one hurt by the diversity, or lack there of, but I wait patiently for stuff like the JC max 8 and now the NG 35K (both for Ethiopian) to continue my collection.

Agreed, I think Africa is a great untapped market. It might be fair to assume there isn’t a whole lot of collectors out there, but you take one look at the widebodies listed in the reply and you have at least double-digit options that would sell.

Yeah africa and south america are also huge markets NG needs to cover. Seems like all people release is Ethiopian and SAA

I believe a lot of the North African airlines can be successful as they tap into the European and Asian markets, so airlines all along the Mediterranean should be a decent grab for European collectors along with with widebodies being popular especially as a few of them are establishing connections in China.

I mean Ethiopian is the largest in Africa and deserves the attention (probably more for narrows), but SAA hasn’t really seen love if I’m being honest. There’s only 5 a/c 4 of which being a 747sp and all its releases and an A330 from 7 years ago. Things like the Kenya airways 738, Uganda 338, and upcoming Ethiopian 35K are very welcomed by me and I’ve enjoyed those releases.

would be nice to see Air Peace
