NG Lite vs NG Standard: The Difference

The publication of the photos for the recently announced NG Lite MAXes gives the first opportunity to directly compare a standard NG release with an NG Lite one, since both the MAXes have been made before. Comparing the two shows the clear differences and it'll be interesting to see what collectors feel about that. Is it more important to get all the bells and whistles or does the price matter more? Here I take a closer look at the new NG Lite models:

How can we get their new N871HK with the metallic colors? I can’t find it on Aviation Megastore (Netherlands) unlike other Sept releases like D-ABYA, D-ABYC… which are available for preorder

It's available at most websites. Aviation Megatore has a rubbish website

Not sure of others here, but for me, NG Lite might ease some wallets , but at the end the day... Subpar. The reason I collect models - is to get something as close to the real thing as possible.

With today's technology that is now possible at 1:400, and NG Next Generation has established the benchmark for quality and accuracy. Hope that continues, as that is where my money generally goes.

Honestly NG Lite is best for those who want to fleet build or those younger populations that don't have that income for themselves. Personally I'd buy some of these if the subject matter is interesting but not so interesting that I'd like to pay full price for it.

Honestly, when I can get that Qatar 777 Lite for a slightly lower price than a Gemini Q400, it's quite appealing from a pure price perspective.

Some Lites don’t seem to be so “Lite..?” As far as I can tell, the Qatar 777 Lite’s no different from a standard NG 777.IMG_1099.jpeg

I'd say, looking at the pictures, it's the printing fineness and the delicate and extensive print details that's missing here - the kind of print details that usually make NG's models seem like 1:200 or even 1:72 or even realistic at times in high res pictures or close ups
This particular model though is strange in terms of being under 'pre-order' since March I think? And then a Lite version gets announced and released as well in the interim
