NG B747-8 Lufthansa Retro - Pictures

I am considering to return the NG model. The shape is of course better than its JC/GJ counterpart. But the lack of mica grey on the fuselage does not justify a 60+ EUR investment just to replace a great model that is closer to the orginal. Font looks off, too.

Not very clear in these photos - how do the yellow and blue compare?
 
The blue and the yellow are different but that didn't bother me too much.
The blue and yellow between the GJ and the NG versions I meant.

The grey doesn't really bother me as much, as in this. scale, replicating pearlescent colours just looks way off, unless it's the entire aircraft.

I was referring to the blue and yellow colours of GJ and NG as well. Not too much of a difference there.

However, replacing two different shades of grey with just one is simply not authentic (and probably due to lack of research). Gemini Jets did successfully replicate them so I'll stick with their release.

But as LH colors are a repeat discussion particularly around YT, here's some info about LH's (classic) colors some may not know:
Lufthansa's livery changes did NOT go hand in hand with color changes. LH's major livery changes occured in 1967/68 (introduction of the "disc" on tail) and 1988/89 (no cheatline)
The colors - among a few other details - however changed in 1962 and again in 1979. The next change was as late as 2018.
Consequently, early delivery 747s had different colors than 1980's delivered airframes. The latter had identical colors to the later post-1988 livery. Just in case you wonder why there's no visible color difference in pics around year 1990, yet the retro-748 has different colors.

YT was painted to resemble 747 colors "as delivered" around 1970.
Until 2018, LH used colors within the RAL system.
1962 to 1979, this was blue RAL5013 and yellow RAL1003.
1979 to 2017, blue RAL5022 and yellow RAL1028 was used.

Here's a look at an LH 747 in 1970's livery (this is what YT resembles - well, at least to some degree)

And in contrast: 1982 delivered YX - near impossible to tell the different colors apart, but the smaller titles give "1980's" away.

Finally, I quickly made up some LH artwork (a 1980's crane) using the corresponding RAL web-color to visualize the difference.
Left is RAL1003/5013 as used between 1962 and 1979
Right is RAL1028/5022 as used between 1979 and 2017.

This clarifies a few things...
 
I suppose Condor made a similar switch from a cold yellow to a warmer one in the 1980s?
I honestly don't know. I remember reading that Condor's colors were the same as LH's, but I don't have any picture proof (tails next to each other in one pic) that they also went to RAL1028 in the same timeframe. But I'd believe so.

It's already pretty hard to find old pics showing the differences with LH. It's that one A300 in both images:

Btw I hope NG will get the right colors for D-ABYM and better cockpit windows (the two front should be small and don’t go to down, as said before…). I hope NG will consider.

This all is relative I'd say. Going by pictures of YT, I'd say NG are good when they do YM in the very same colors as I strongly think their YT erroneously features post 1979 colors.

I'd suggest doing a less "ultimate" 2nd run of YT then, featuring:
- better colors
- improved titles
- silver mica
- and a correctly placed and sized tail logo.
