Net Models

Basic question is has anyone heard of this manufacturer? And if so, what are your thoughts?

Just picked this Danish tail BA 747 up off eBay but had never heard of the manufacturer so not really sure what to expect.

It's an old brand from the 2000's from what I know, but I think that's about it

I had 747s and DC9s from them, quality is bad.

Low quality brand with low quality moulds, I have a DC-9-30 and the the LG is about as high as the model itself.

I have a 1:500 BA blue pool they made its a very nice little model

I have a Mandarin Airlines B747-400
Not good - very tall and details are terrible...
Only good thing is that the shape looks fine and still bears elements of 747 (Unlike the Phoenix effort)
The China Airlines one is a JC release, just for comparison

I believe that the NetModels 747 was an attempt at an all metal version of the Dragon mould. If you look at the standhole I think it is an odd shape like Dragons. It isn't a great 747 I agree - worse than the Dragon by some distance

Netmodels had some crap moulds indeed. Their DC-9 seems to have an OK shape, if you ignore the very blunt nose section.



Their 747-400s have some strange winglets... the shape is off
they also had models in 1:500, but nothing remarkable. They had a 707 mould, but the nose section was atrocious.

The DC-9 tails don't look great either...vertical stabilzer seems to be too tall..or perhaps a bit too narrow.

I have the Net Models PlayBoy DC-9-30 (it went to Aeropostal right after PlayBoy). It was sold to me as an Aeroclassics on eBay years ago. It came in an Aeroclassics box too. Took me years to notice something didn’t add up

I regretted not getting their BA Landor with the Children Conference tail at AMS 2023.

Mine came from Big Bird in that livery…think there’s 3 of them on eBay now

Ahhhhhh *insert expletive*. This will make an ok stop gap till I can get my hands on one. Gutted I didn’t get into model collecting till a later stage in life well after all these decent mould models came out

I even had a gold version, although I completely forgot about it until someone bought it
