Hi everyone, first-time poster here! I've loved commercial aviation ever since I was a kid, but I didn't start collecting airplane models until a few years back. My favorite aircraft by a long shot is the Airbus A350, and it's thanks to my family that I received my first two ever models as birthday presents in 2022: GeminiJets' Delta Spirit A350-900 and NG Models' Virgin Atlantic A350-1000. I was going to stop after both of these, but the wishlist has quickly grown (and still is today) and, well, here I am now.

Nowadays, I have 12 models in my 1:400 collection all from Aviation400, NG Models, GeminiJets, and JC Wings. Most of these models are of the A350 (I know, I got a little problem with that haha but I can't help collecting more of my favorite plane). The most recent additions are the Delta LA28 special, Asiana, and Cathay models, all three of which are made by Av400 with the magnetic landing gears. Overall, very happy with everything in my collection so far!

Thank you! A reason why I love this aircraft is because it can look good in pretty much any livery. Hard for me to pick a favorite, whether in real-life or mini-me form!

And it's definitely not the end of the road, there's several more I want to get next. But I might wait since I'm not a frequent buyer.

Thanks! Slightly leaning towards the -1000 mostly because there's not as many of them in real life as the -900. One of my main airports is ATL, where Qatar Airways and Virgin Atlantic are the two regular A35K operators. Really excited to see more of them coming such as Etihad's and Delta's. But I love both variants honestly, so kind of a close call!

Cool that you got the BA A35K! I love their livery on that aircraft, especially with the Union Jack painted on the winglets. Also looking forward to the Delta A35K, really want to get a model of this in the future. I know NG produced it as a fantasy model, but I'll wait until the real thing shows up with an existing registration.

I'm part Korean, so the airline means a lot to me haha. Both the A380 and B777-300ER look super nice in Korean Air's color scheme. Really going to miss that livery after four decades!

As an aside, the rebrand has grown on me slightly, but it still can't beat the classic for sure. In the future, I'm thinking about getting their A350-1000 to represent the modern KE era once it is delivered in the coming years.

Glad to hear that. Boring new design aside, it’s a shame models in the old livery will dry up soon. The NG coming out next month may even be the last decent one

Also might become more difficult to find Asiana models. The merger was the main reason why I prioritized to get their A350 when it was announced last year.

If you’ve got the space and money, SQ Wings’ 1:200 HL7428 is fantastic. Probably the best OZ model ever.

The A350 really is a masterpiece in aeronautical engineering. It is the epitome of elegance, efficiency, and comfort. I love seeing all kinds of commercial aircraft, but Airbus knocked it out of the park with this bird. There may have been some issues such as paint chipping and engine durability in extreme climates, but overall it is a great aircraft with an excellent reputation and safety record. Really looking forward to future operators and developments (and models!) within the program in the coming years.

My Virgin Atlantic A35K (G-VEVE) was my second-ever model. At the time, I didn't think too much about the brand, so I just grabbed it from the first store that had it. That was a very lucky choice, I later learned that NG has a really good A350 mould and this particular model is very difficult to find today.

The A350 is an aircraft I can just watch endlessly - gliding in and out of the runway. It's beautiful - not only from an airframe design perspective, but from the overall technological jump it has enabled.
IMO it is the most beautiful passenger aircraft in the skies today. And those blended winglets .......!!! So graceful!

And rightly said - the A350 wears any livery like a pro. It looks lovely even in the most blandest of schemes (LHs Clean Tech Flyer and JAL / Finnair / MU come to mind) - something it's competitors can't really stake a claim on.

Really keen to see how your A350 fleet builds up! So many exciting liveries it will wear in the coming years! And wears right now.

An A350 in US Airways livery would look really nice! But of course, things have changed over time as American decided to stick with the 787 for their long-haul operations.

Whenever I fly domestically out of ATL, I always wait in concourse F where all the international carriers board. I always try to find places to sit where the A350 is parked and take photos. Such a majestic bird that never gets old to see.

Very excited to see how the collection will expand moving forward! The 747 and A380 are always the Queen and King, so if there was a "Princess of the Skies", the A350 definitely deserves that title.

Out of curiosity, what are your favorite liveries on that plane? It's very hard for me to pick, but some of them include Delta, Air France, and the ME3 (Emirates, Etihad, Qatar). But honestly, there's no way to make this aircraft look bad.

By the way, Cathay recently used an A350-1000 on a low-pass flight to celebrate 100 years since the opening of Kai Tak. Perfect timing to have received the model last week!
