Hello everyone! We have noticed a recent uptick in discussion conflict, mainly on the release threads for Gemini Jets and NG Models, often with hostility changes between threads, and sometimes in select threads' discussions. With that in mind, we want to update you about moderation and expectations for discussions on MAF.
• It is completely okay to disagree with other people's opinions, but when responding to people, everybody is expected to remain on the subject and not make personal attacks or accusations. Personal attacks or accusations of people's opinions will not be tolerated from here on out. If you have any questions about this subject, please message all three moderators together.
• If you are offended by somebody's opinion, it doesn't mean that you have the right to attack them. Please contact the moderators if needed.
• If there are concerns with somebody's content, then a report should be made to the moderators rather than inducing conflict about it on the forum.
• Forum members - please respond to the moderator’s requests. If a member has been asked to follow a request, this request needs to be followed. If they wish to continue the discussion on the issue, then do so by messaging all three moderators together.
• The moderators are all volunteers working to help the forum for free. In addition, we all live in different time zones and have various personal commitments. An individual moderator may make decisions and consult their fellow moderators afterwards to discuss them/take action/make changes as necessary.
Not following these guidelines, as defined by the moderators, will result in the following:
• Step 1: A warning in the thread, or via a message with all the moderators copied.
• Step 2: A short, temporary ban
• Step 3: Permanent ban
If the behaviour is serious (spamming for example) then steps may be skipped as necessary.
If you have any questions, please reach out to us. We're here to provide a platform for you all to discuss model aircraft in an enjoyable way. We're very pleased with the majority of the forums' threads, but we want to prevent any additional issues from here on out.
