Model teaser from HX model, partially physical.

These shiny engines bring some childhood memories to me. I had one of these toy 747s when I was a kid, and the engines were also very shiny 🥹 :ROFLMAO:

I'm not really happy with some details on this model. The main gear appears to be a bit chunky. But the grey on the wings is a lot better than on HX' Pan Ams.
(Not kidding on the latter)

The KE 748 is probably a pass for me. I did grab the Tropical Megatop though, and am looking forward to more of the Classics/744s
Hey, what do you think of the Tropical Megatop? I am considering it and it would be my first HX if I get it

Absolutely worth it, IMO, and I’m even contemplating picking up the other reg when I get a chance. I posted about it in the 1:400 showoff thread. The cockpit printing is much better than on the CX 747s from last year, and it even looks like they fixed the gear height.

Just wondering: shouldn't the Pan Am 747s have the same bars/strakes on the top of the wing, near the leading edges, just like this JAL 747 above?
I know these bars were only present on B747-100s, but I'm not sure if PA 747s had them or not. @Phantom might shed us some light???

AFAIK, these stripes are nothing but dirt or excess sealant along panels. On a factory fresh paintjob they are invissible. I'm undecided whether I want them or not on a model but lean towards yes.
Yes, those stripes are great to tell a 100/100B from other versions as others were structurally different.
