HX are just killing it with all of these releases. Finally after all these years, a company has finally listened and we now have a well worthy fleet of 747 moulds released or in production.
meanwhile, NG is still struggling and didn't even release an updated version of the B747-100 prototype. They only released the "Lite" version and that's all.
These shiny engines bring some childhood memories to me. I had one of these toy 747s when I was a kid, and the engines were also very shiny![]()

Well, I must say these Pan Am models look wonderful, apart from the engines.
I'm not really happy with some details on this model. The main gear appears to be a bit chunky. But the grey on the wings is a lot better than on HX' Pan Ams.These shiny engines bring some childhood memories to me. I had a similar toy Air Force One model as a kid, though my engines weren't that nice! These shiny engines bring some childhood memories to me. I had one of these toy 747s when I was a kid, and the engines were also very shiny![]()

Hey, what do you think of the Tropical Megatop? I am considering it and it would be my first HX if I get itThe KE 748 is probably a pass for me. I did grab the Tropical Megatop though, and am looking forward to more of the Classics/744s
There's an FD version of this too - but that wing root really kills any desire to acquire it.Korean Air 747-8I (HL7633)

But this product has been launched before, however this time it is launched under the name HX (changed from MachBirdz logo to HX logo).
It’s very nice! They improved the nose gear height but the main gear is still too tall. So now has a nose down stance.Hey, what do you think of the Tropical Megatop? I am considering it and it would be my first HX if I get it
Absolutely worth it, IMO, and I’m even contemplating picking up the other reg when I get a chance. I posted about it in the 1:400 showoff thread. The cockpit printing is much better than on the CX 747s from last year, and it even looks like they fixed the gear height.Hey, what do you think of the Tropical Megatop? AFAIK, these stripes are nothing but dirt or excess sealant along panels. On a factory fresh paintjob they are invissible. I'm undecided whether I want them or not on a model but lean towards yes.Just wondering: shouldn't the Pan Am 747s have the same bars/strakes on the top of the wing, near the leading edges, just like this JAL 747 above?
I know these bars were only present on B747-100s, but I'm not sure if PA 747s had them or not. @Phantom might shed us some light???
