Model Review - Cathay Pacific 747-400 by HX Models / YY Wings

All the activity in the Boeing 747 classic space has yet to really bear the amount and quality of fruit that I'd like, however the number of contending products is growing strongly. The latest in the 747-400 space is HX Models with their own mould that compares well with their recent series 100. So far production has been limited to Asian versions like this Cathay, which would be a fantastic model if not for some errant cockpit printing:

Awesome model. Too bad about the cockpit window placement and the long gears. I really hope HX can fix the gear height, because I must say i'm quite happy with the quality of their 747s so far. I also hope the cockpit window issue is just an isolated case. My 747-100 have them correctly placed.

What I'm also really keen to see, is a mould successfully replicating the 'Sutter' wing profile on the 747 - especially how it appears when the wing is 'at rest' while on the ground - which is what all models other than the FDs represent. This HX wing is 'too straight'.

This is also why I prefer JC's flaps-down versions as I can choose to overlook the absence of the visible 'at-rest twist' - with the FD wings representing being 'stressed' by the deployment of the flaps while coming in to land

Is the cockpit window also too high on this one? By the way, I like the wing markings. There's a very thin red outline on the corroguards. I don't know if the real one have it but it does look very cool and it's good to see such effort in the details. Seeing that first pic, one could easily say that model is 1:200 or even a plastic kit model!!!

Yes the cockpit issue is on both the Cathays

The detailed gears are a nice improvement over the JC. As long as there aren’t any disastrous QC issues, this looks like a winner.
