Legacy Jets 1:400 Scale Models

The A320 is not in my collecting criteria but I have to say what a lovely looking model it is! Quick question: Do you guys anticipate doing a DC-10 or A310 ( or both) in the future?

I wonder why you had these produced then.
I mean, we're not talking about production level issues but design level, so the issues were well known pre-production.
Curious to see how this 737 finally turns out then as you'll effectively need a new tooling.

Yeah, I've seen this text a few times already. Curious when you'll finally show up with some physical proof for it.

I love the innovation and models that people actually want, but “outstanding craftsmanship”, “exceptionally detailed model blueprint”, “significant time perfecting every element”. It looks AI generated while reading it. I’m going to be honest. After all the commotion that’s happened while announcing these models, and all the times you guys announced these models were the some of the best all around, there’s still a lot of mistakes to fix, and I wouldn’t be happy with the quality of the Avelo 737-700. The A320 is good but not the level of good you said it would be. I just think making these claims after showing pictures of the models that have mistakes on them isn’t the best move for a new company.

Fully agreed with what you have just mentioned. With LJ starting a hype initially, making their models sound like some out of the world details, but in the end, the disappointment which they had gave us collectors are greater than what they had hyped us with (ironically) 😂

I’ll say, if they would like to announce new models next time, maybe don’t use those AI generated images and text to hype us, instead, show us the actual product during the announcement. There is no need to worry that others will compete with you as a production takes 6 months to complete so unless LJ decided to announce it beforehand when the model is not in production then oh well… it’s on them😉

Not to mention that from a retailer to a ‘manufacturer’ within about a year/ two is taking too quick of a step and not knowing your entire production line (had to ask where certain images are from) is a huge gap to be filled.

This is what I’ve been saying this whole time. When you train yourself to spot AI content, it becomes a sixth sense to you. Now, I don’t want to discredit from what I think is a solid product, but it obviously isn’t meeting the high standards they set for themselves and other collectors. I still gawk at the price point though, and for the mistakes it does have, I will be thinking twice about buying this $60 product.

I also agree with @Ted Lin — you don’t need generative AI for a mould announcement. Take a page out of NG’s book when it comes to that, because they do it very well IMO. No AI gimmicks, no nothing; just the mould itself.

definitely! Their price point is also a major issue. Their are selling it at a way higher price than GJ and even HX even though the model is out from HX factory. Yep it is indeed true that such ‘customise’ model usually will be more expensive than the manufacturer but i don’t think the price point which they are selling is justifiable. I guess this also shows why so many retailer are not taking in any.

Agreed. They should be selling at HX’s price point realistically if it’s the essentially the same mould and same deficiencies.

As a retailer we are approached all the time from manufacturers to carry their product. For us, we require a sample sent to us, which isn’t asking much. If you want us to promote your product we need to see it, and then we will compare to a similar product and model. There are a ton of these little boutique manufacturers that are seemingly popping up at breakneck speed anymore, and at higher price points. We as retailers have to make the decision, is this 737 $10 better than that 737? most of the time not really. So to blindly obligate ourselves as a supplier of said product would be retail suicide, especially when minimum quantities are typically mandated. If we don’t see a model, then we won’t carry it, and it’s not about wanting a free model, far from the truth. So my recommendations to these upcoming manufacturers, is that if you really want to groom your audience, send samples out to the major retailers and let them be your spokesperson. That’s how you get your product hyped up.

I’m a firm believer that any product that’s worth selling will sell itself. Secondly, i’m not the biggest fan as the consumer being sold something that sounds like an AI chatbot regurgitating the same talking points. NG models blew the lid off the market with their 757’s with the hard product left to do the talking. I don’t see that happening here with that HX rendition. I will be looking forward to the E-175’s in the meantime and lastly this is why I don’t pre-order anything anymore in this hobby.

Yep, pre-order of any brand new product is a little premature if you ask me. We have samples coming in on a couple new manufacturers and at that point we will decide if it’s something worth pursuing as a retailer. Folks preordering multiple new brands coming out in 2026 are taking a bit of a gamble, especially at the retail prices. It’s kinda like the movie hype, where it’s just beat to death, and then when the big premiere hits, it’s a disappointment and the air gets let out of the bubble.
