JC Wings July 2025 Announcements

Ok, good to know, thanks. Phoenix is quite significantly cheaper, so I might go for that one. I can only preorder the phoenix and JC Wings model, my local retailer doesn’t have the NG version available to preorder. If phoenix is of similar quality to the JC Wings and is expected sooner then I think it makes the most sense.

Pheonix quality has never been an issue in my opinion but the 777 they offer has started to become a tad dated compared to the NG or JC version. I believe the JC mold is the best out of the three, but QC can be hit or miss with JC Wings. I have found the best bang for your buck is the NG offering as I personally shy away from Pheonix 777's as the APU section is pretty rudimentary.

I had a look at the yesterday airlines review of all three moulds but I’m not sure if they’re the most recent. I assume that Phoenix have moved on from their 2007 mould? Unfortunately I couldn’t find the NG version to preorder from the places that are most affordable for me (I don’t want to pay the same amount as the model in shipping), so I’ve preordered the Phoenix one instead, and that’ll be my first 1:400 model. All of the manufacturers seem to have at least one aspect that’s letting them down, but I’ll see if the Phoenix one is any good when it releases. If not, then I’ll choose someone else in the future. At least I know it’ll be better than Herpa 😅.

Like I said the Pheonix holds its own and the QC will most likely be just fine. I also believe that the mold is pretty dated so it most likely is from 2007. Part of getting into 1:400 is discovering the differences of manufacturers and molds once you personally have them in hand and you can analyze which are best based off that. My tastes and criteria have changed vastly over the years..

Nope the Phoenix mould is still the same. It's fine but not as good as several others
Surprising that they haven’t changed it for so long. If it works it works I guess. As long as it’s detailed both physically and in the prints then I’m not fussed, it’ll be better than what I’m used to. Just wanted to make sure that I’m not buying something that turns out to majorly disappoint. I have a feeling that it won’t, but that if I collect a lot more in the scale then I’ll look back and realise it could be better 😆.

Yes the Phoenix mould is still a decent 777 so you should be happy with it I think

I’ve changed my mind and gone for the JC instead. From what I can gather it’s a better mould and I don’t mind too much waiting the extra while for it. Any idea how long these models usually take to release though? I’m interested in their RJ E190-E2 as well which seems like it was announced a long time ago but hasn’t actually released yet.

You do realise that JC models have no ETA 😅
Some models take 3-4 years after announcement to be released 😆
