JC Wings August 2025 Announcements

To each their own, but the JC mold is not significantly better than the Phoenix one. Now if we were talking about the Panda MD-11 mold then it would be a vastly different story.

Then, the recent purple top by Phoenix has top notch printing detailing, properly placed cockpit windows and all. We shall see what JC comes up with.
I will second this
All the recent JC MD-11s have some mess up or the other - cockpit, or short nlg giving the aircraft the wrong posture , etc

With the improved landing gear, PHXs MD-11s are easily second best after Panda - PHXs printing and detailing has dramatically improved

Pylons, engine shape, nose... these are still in need of attention on the PHX mould.
And, to be honest, that gear length modification didn't change it that much. They still look quite tall and oversized IMO.
I'd still pick the good old Dragon MD-11 over Phoenix anyday

About the JC mould, I fully agree about these annoying issues (poor cockpit window, too short NLG).
The Martinair MD-11 was a disaster, but the MD House colors MD-11s look great. I just wish they had a slightly longer nose gear

Oh yes of course, but the Dragon is a non-existent mould now - I'm talking of those in production - and yes, the PHX is second after Panda by quite a far far margin as you rightly point out.

Panda seems to have gone to sleep on their MD-11s after making all those exclusives and only releasing 2 under their own brand

Perhaps spoken about previously, but how is their A340 mould compared to Phoenix's?
Not great. A343 has Similar issues as their A330s. Landing gear, heights wing dihedral consequences, front region and cockpit issues. The last JC A343 I got was the Iran Aseman from 2020.

The A346 is better but has a Seam. Nonetheless I got the recent Conviasa since PHX was sleeping on it.

The A345 has landing gear issues, besides the usual cockpit issues - nonetheless I got the recent Kuwait as again, PHX has been sleeping on it.

I'm a die-hard A340 collector, but I avoid JC/GJ mould unless there's no option.
Currently, PHX has the best active A340 moulds across board - and I've picked up most of their recent releases.

See @YesterAirlines mould comparison
