Hi to all.
Looking at the importance of this model for 1:500 collectors and 1:500 scale i decided to create a dedicate thread.
The model Is exclusive for Herpa Extra Partners shops so it is not available for regular sale.
Shameful, especially because of the importance of this model most wanted and most wished by thousand of 1:500 collectors? YES!
Strange decision by Herpa especially because Wizzair most wanted most wished etc etc? YES!
Why Herpa always makes these "stupid" things (please allow me to use the word "stupid" because too many Herpa decisions are a nonsense!)? I DON'T KNOW!
Anyway, i found that WINGSMO Is ready for preorder the model: the price Is a nonsense top, 41 euros!!!, and it will be delivered on September 30th.

That’s pretty expensive for a premade 1:500 A321…

I don’t know how Herpa could think it was a good idea to release such a highly popular model in such a manner. Had it been a model collectors cared less (but still cared) I might have given them the benefit of the doubt about this Herpa Extra edition. That combined with their habit of releasing one model of a line (like the Latam special liveries) as a club model, making it harder and more expensive to complete the set. And the price of this Wizz Air A321 is a joke. It’s bad enough that the distribution is limited but why would a Herpa A321 be worth 41 euros ? I don’t think this model will be any better than any of the other A321s we’ve seen from Herpa in recent years so in my honest opinion, there is no justification for this. Even the fact that distribution is limited doesn’t cut it for me. Herpa’s MSRPs are already extortionate enough.

From what I understand, the airline with which the license was in short supply was Wizzair. This was because Herpa lost its license after the A320, and so they probably renegotiated a new agreement with increased prices for everyone, especially for the poor collectors who are literally being taken by the throat! Such a most wanted model sold as an exclusive is also a disgrace and only pleases the speculators who sell it on eBay at stratospheric prices.

There are two things that bother me. First, why exclude so many collectors by reserving this model for Herpa retailers? Second, I would have preferred an A321neo or A320neo, rather than an old A321-230 that will soon be retired from service.

Who knows what’s happening at Herpa ? I thought the meeting with collectors such as BongoPlanes would be a start for improvements at Herpa but it seems that we’re not at the point where we can say Herpa is truly getting better.
I understand why you would want Wizz Air neos instead of ceos but if the ceos are to be retired soon then now is the best time to release them while they are still in service. That being said, I agree that Herpa has to get around to make the neos as well.

Really disappointed…€41 for that? And exclusive? The ScaleModelStore EasyJet feels like a steal…
