Gemini Jets Stands

What are some of the best stands for models? I have a 1:200 wooden stand by Gemini Jets but it scratched the paint near the stand hole. I've heard some 1:400 stands can also be used for both scales. The tripod stands I've heard are the worst, with some models falling off of them and breaking.

That really depends on the model to be honest. Since this is the 400 scale forum, I'd say that the best right now are the ones that come with many AV400 models. They are good sized and click together in a jiff. They support most models in 400 scale that have a stand hole. It seems like more different types of stands are being developed as we discuss this. NG for example seem posed to sell stands that can accommodate aircraft that don't have stand holes, like their 737. (Stand can be seen here). They look to be selling them for only a few USD. The old stainless steel Gemini stands also work well, but they tend to cause models to spin around like a top (not ideal). The good news is that most stand are inexpensive. I've recommend looking into a few different kinds to see which ones work best for your needs.

I agree with @Lightsnack87 . I have hundreds of these small black generic plastic stands (there are two sizes). The peg doesn't always fit the hole of the model well as holesizes are quite variable but they do the job well and are cheap:

None of the alternatives can currently match them for cost or general usefulness.

Yeah I don’t like the tripod stands; I have a few 1:200 models and I refuse to use them in any capacity. I don’t have the wooden stand though so I might get one once I build up my larger scale fleet.
