Gemini Jets September 2025 Releases

As a CONSUMER who collects models from the US, these last few releases have put out models that we have been begging for years for. They have finally started to listen to our complaints directed towards NG and GJ themselves. Just those two United Express Re-Releases alone changed my opinion on GJ. No one is releasing those models, and GJ has stepped up and done them. Now don’t get me wrong, some of their business practices behind the scenes can be iffy, but you could probably say that about most diecast companies or companies in general. One criticism of GJ I can get behind is pricing, which is currently outrageously overpriced (due to those accursed US Tariffs), with prices like 50 USD for a regional jet. But I would rather pay 50 USD for that regional jet than pay 200 buying one of the last releases. That’s what I think has changes positively for GJ, they are releasing modeled WE WANT. I can name numerous releases from all parts of the world that GJ has done this year that have definitely set a different path for them. (Asian MD-80s, UA CRJ and ERJ, Qantas 737, Binter E2, and just about every release from this summer.)

I understand everyone has their own release criteria and is entitled to it. I absolutely will be purchasing the United CRJ-550 and E-175 however I fail to understand how these releases could define the success of GJ. These are sought after undoubtedly, but they are re-releases and the only reason they're sought after is because JC wings are the only ones that have a mold which leaves you with no other choice. It was almost a certainty that you would get a re-release of these copies. GJ has had some promising releases this year I won't deny that but in almost every case the competition has a better mold waiting to be used and or the diverse selection you're referencing at the end is lightly sprinkled in. If your criteria are exclusively modern airliners, I suppose you would be happy but if you're looking for a broad spectrum from the 1990's-2025, you would be vastly disappointed.

I understand your take here. I don’t really collect older airliners (and when I do, I prefer Aeroclassics for their variety). Another thing is that I am fairly new to model aircraft collecting (started my collection in 2022) so I lack the perspective of someone who has lived through and collected during the older periods of GJ’s existence. But compared to how I’ve heard it was during the 2018-2021 era, they have changed for the better. The CRJ and ERJ UA releases mark (in my mind) sets where GJ has listened to collectors, and finally answered our prayers for United Regional Jets. While I agree that competitors may have better moulds, not all of them use those moulds for releases we want, namely NG releasing like only Chinese planes and ignoring Europe, Japan, and North and South America

As someone who got the United Express releases the first time, the re-releases did nothing for me.
There are so many easy options that have never been done. And this is just the United States. but why do that when they can just pump out the same thing over and over again.

These are all great releases I ALSO want released. I never got the original Evo Blue and Unicon releases, hence why they are so big for me personally. Couldn’t justify purchasing a 200+ dollar regional jet

NG's unfortunate turn of events in the wrong direction is a relatively new development in the grand scheme and is an ongoing frustration because NG has tons of potential they're not exploiting especially if you're familiar with early NG when they first came to market. For GJ during 2018-2021 it was really bad, and it has improved but those issues mainly had to do with quality control which Gemini/JC still suffers the most if you're comparing the other brands. Their release choices were technically the same bread and butter you get today.

I totally agree. However, it's obvious that GJ won't do a re-release if the airline is currently defunct and that they will only do re-releases of airlines that are currently in service. Todd Models 3 weeks ago told me they will never do a 747-400 Northwest bowling shoe ever again when I made a recommendation for release choices. Take that for what it's worth..

Yeah. But what I’m saying is that it’s nice to see them listen to collectors more on some of these models. Otherwise I agree with you, especially about NG.

This I’ll agree on. Really hope for more modern-classic regionals because that’s vastly underrepresented with many subjects missing or needing a rerelease. However the modern ones are welcomed due to their immense value they gain immediately after release.

The Delta Saab 340 in 200 scale gives me hope they’ll do one in 400 scale soon. They did acknowledge my post on IG (ofc that might mean nothing) asking for one but I guarantee I’m not the only person.

I remember him telling me they might not do a Republic MD-80 when I met him in Kansas City last year and got a chance to provide requests to him. Hopefully they’ve had a change of heart with that since they did a Frontier one. Republic, Ozark, and Northwest Thermometer are my “Big Three” for missing Mad Dogs.

Defiantly agree with that as well. Need these for retro RDM (and just like modern regional jets, can’t justify the prices)

Agree here also... As a Delta collector can we chill on those please? How about Emirates? Shocking we get United and American (Sarcasm). Rinse and repeat rinse and repeat. It's also the mold choices... Where are the 747's, L1011's, DC-10's, 727's, DC-9's? They have made it very clear their primary focus is modern aircraft with some classics sprinkled in from time to time but how many 777's, 787's and 737's do we need?
I feel the same way about GJ. I recently started collecting just after Covid and my DL fleet is extensive despite missing majority of releases because we get a lot of love. The unfortunate part is that I don’t see GJ as my primary manufacturer because their mold are majority inferior, and I’ve expanded past US models and into Africa. I’ll use the 764 as an example, I passed on all of the delta 764s minus the Vince Dooley edition for the Panda (and if NG makes a different reg in normal colors I’ll probably buy that too) versions just because it’s better. The only stuff I’ll “look” at GJ to make is regionals and the 717, and even then it’s only because nobody else makes them.
