Exclusive 1/400 Collectors alert

Would be nice to get at least a hint of what it is…

As someone from America, why would I travel all the way to Amsterdam for a pair of “exclusive models” when it is now only a month away. Yes… let me forget my rent and other bills so I can purchase a now overpriced $1500 plane ticket across the pond for a model I’d know nothing about till I see it. Especially when there are seemingly 10-15 other Airliners International events across the US. I hope it will be a worthwhile model for those that go out of their way for basically that alone!

They have to borderline be a European themed Airline right? I mean if it was two exclusive Southwest 737s or Continental DC9s or whatever only being given out in Amsterdam that would be a bit insane no? Maybe a KLM or British Airways special scheme not done before or similar.
We'll be revealing more as we get closer to the convention date!

Judging by this on Instagram i wouldn’t all be rushing to skyscanner 😂View attachment 37639

I would be surprised if they are attending in person. I suspect they will use a retailer, but could be wrong

EDIT: I'm told the person attending is Dutch and runs their instagram account. So not NG themselves really

The few who you can see from the side ,look like a A350 nose shape to me.

So a KLM a350 on a Panda mould?
Or a KLM Cargo or Martinair Cargo (red tail) a350F on the NG mould?

Hoping for the Martinair !

I drank a lot of beer with the NG people at the AMS 2023 show 😅

I was keen to get one of the two Transavia 757s from the fair yesterday so I was in the crush just before 12pm when they were finally released for sale. After the initial madness (they really could have had more than one person taking the money or have formed some kind of queue) there were still at least half of both of the releases available by the time I left around 13:30. The models were EUR 65 each, or EUR 120 for both, so not the cheapest, but then again not outrageous for European prices and considering the very limited run well worth it! As I understand it any that were leftover may well be available for purchase at upcoming fairs (I'm guessing that includes the Heathrow show at the end of March).

Anyway it is good to see a classic 757 from NG Models and Transavia fits nicely into my EU charter area (plus they were a regular scheduled carrier into LGW too). I went just for the standard livery (mine being no 65 out of 72) and didn't get the 94 football scheme, after all I'm English, a Villa supporter and Ollie Watkins, the did knock the Oranje out of the last Euros ;););)

Transavia flew 8 757-200s at various times (although three were just short term leases), but just 4 were delivered new to Transavia as series 2K2s. PH-TKA was the first - delivered in February 1993. I hadn't realised that two of those four (TKA and TKB) were sold to the RNZAF in 2003 so have been seen multiple times by me at Whenuapai in Auckland. NG had already made PH-AHP (which only served for a year from April 2000-May 2001) back in 2021 and she goes nicely with TKA. The 757s left the fleet in 2003 after KLM took full ownership and the airline converted into an LCC.
