My 1:400 collection (mostly A350s!)

what are your favorite liveries on that plane? It's very hard for me to pick
Haha yeah very true - it's a hard pick! Offhand these are perhaps my favourite-st-est (haha!) regular schemes on currently operational A350s -
- China Southern
- Delta
- China Airlines
- Edelweiss
- Fiji
- Ethiopian
- Korean ( 'old scheme')

And formerly -
- Azul
- TAM
- LH ('old' scheme)

Airline liveries I hope against hope to see the A350 in -
- ANA
- TAP
- Air Canada

Great choices! Also a slight note: there are no more Lufthansa A350s in the classic livery. All of them now have the modern color scheme (the last one with the yellow crane was D-AIXH, which was repainted a few months ago in Shannon).

Going through all of the current A350 operators, I think these are my standouts (again so hard to narrow down haha):
  • Air France (Simple, but very elegant looking. Can't beat one of the original Eurowhites)
  • Asiana Airlines (Going to miss this one!)
  • British Airways (A timeless classic, love the Union Jack on the winglets)
  • Cathay Pacific (Hopefully one of these will be the next Spirit of HK!)
  • Delta Air Lines (Love the two Olympic liveries especially, can't wait for their A350-1000s!)
  • Emirates
  • Etihad Airways (An absolute stunner with the metallic gold look :D, I love the one that used to have the 50 years sticker. Can't wait to see this come to ATL this summer!)
  • French Bee
  • Japan Airlines (I actually like this one for reminding me of their red/white national flag, love those red gradient winglets and any of their special liveries)
  • Korean Air (A true classic that will be missed)
  • Lufthansa (Definitely prefer the classic livery over the modern one in general, but A350 is an exception. It looks a little better with the modern livery, but still wish they kept a few with the yellow crane as tribute)
  • Malaysia Airlines (Specifically the Negaraku birds)
  • Qatar Airways
  • Singapore Airlines (Another timeless classic)
  • Virgin Atlantic (That metallic silver and red, always a pleasure to see at ATL)

Great collection, and welcome to the forum. You'll find the members here are both kind and knowledgeable. You're off to a great start, and good luck keeping the collection small! You're starting out in what I'd argue is the Golden Age of 1/400. You have selected a great aircraft to center on, and you've selected models from the premium model producers so you now can identify what a quality 400 model should be. Thanks for the photos, and happy collecting!

I also just realized that the wrong MLGs are placed on my new models, this is how they should look…

Just kidding of course, April Fools! I’m switching these back now, seeing both A350 variants with swapped MLGs is cursed.
Although, it's awesome how landing gear / tyre technology has advanced so much - allowing the A359 with just 8 pairs of main wheels vs say the A343 or B772 (similar / slightly lower MTOW)

Thanks! Again, I started in late 2022 during which I wasn't too much in collecting at the time. Looking back now, that was great timing. There's more options for good A350 models available, yet a good chunk of my collection is extremely difficult to find nowadays.

And yeah true, I'm generally selective of which models to acquire. My personal preferences for the 350 are NG and Av400, but I also try to consider other options if there is no other choice. As long as the nose profile is good and the livery is accurate, I'm game for that model.

Also the fact that CFRP is lightweight, so no need to support as much weight as similar-sized planes made of aluminum.
