Everyone's Favourite Livery

I must admit I'm a sucker for the old BOAC 'golden speedbird' scheme of the 60's-70's. Along with the iconic '70's Ansett 'red delta' and TAA blue tail T jet. The Delta widget posted on the previous page is a thing of beauty too. Showing my age I guess!

Finnair? Really?
In my opinion, it’s the only eurowhite livery that actually suits the country it represents. The colors, the font, the size of the text on the fuselage. It feels very Finnish, like it was actually designed by Finish artists/designers, and it matches their corporate brand identity in a way that carries like Lufthansa, Brussels Airlines or Iberia have been unable to. It’s super simple but not dull, and also just feels so proper and unique.

Facebook livery is miles better in my opinion, but to each their own...

Just to add to another-

I think the current Delta livery is one of the best around right now. It feels like it works super well with the airlines around in the 2000/2010s but it fits in and feels incredibly modern and unique today. I’ll truly be upset whenever they decide to rebrand in the next (i assume?) 5-10 years. Basically nothing will top to longevity of this livery imo.

As a fan of Finnish design, I will agree. It's simple, yes, but not dull. I like the title font - like a folded band that forms each alphabet - and always reminds me of Aalto's bentply experiments and his stools and furniture. I love how the titles sit on the fuselage - they're large yes, billboard like - but they nicely fill the airfame. And they avoid looking 'cheap' like the new Icelandair or Air India titles.
I have one gripe - it is the 'F' on the tail - the tail design could definitely be better - and while they got rid of the Facebook version, this 'Facebook Lite' version needs to also go.

Delta takes a lot of pride in its current livery from the perspective of the brand they’re trying to represent. Sleek, simple and emulating of the higher class of branding and service they strive to provide. I personally don’t think the current AA or UAL liveries capture what a legacy livery should be in today’s industry quite like Delta’s. They look nice, but don’t capture the legacy and forward thinking of tone decades into the future. If that makes sense…

Was the thread talking about China Eastern’s livery and it was everyone’s “favourite”?

It was talking about the two new China Eastern models Richard got recently, and the "everyone's favourite livery" title seems to be just an ironic joke, since this livery is regarded as one of the blandest liveries ever... but then people didn't catch this and started posting their favorite liveries 😆
