Boeing House Boeing 747-121 N7470 by NG Lite. Note that I haven't mentionedthat the aircraft's name was City of Everett. That is because N7470 was only given the name City of Everett in 1975 and this model is of N7470 at the time of its first flight in 1969.
N7470 is the first 747 prototype. It flew as a test aircraft for Boeing from 1969 to 1995. Not only was it used for the certification campaign of the 747 but it was also used as a potential tanker for the SR-71 and B-52 and it was used as a mockup for the development of the Boeing VC-25A. It also served as a testbed for the Pratt & Whitney PW4000 engine during its development for the 777. N7470 is currently preserved at the Museum of Flight in Seattle.
Despite its lack of details compared with other models, I quite like this NG Lite version of N7470. Sure, it's not as good as the HX or even some releases on older moulds such as with JC Wings on the BigBird mould. Sure the mould was a bit disappointing given NG's track record of having excellent moulds. I just hope this 747 classic mould is not in limbo and it is being updated like the 747SP mould to match the 747-400 mould and the 747-8 mould.
