Cleaning models

Hey everyone, as a somewhat new model collector, I was wondering if there is a specific way that I should be cleaning my models. Right now, I'm just using a tissue to clean the planes. Should I be using something else or is that okay?
I try to enclose the, but I occasionally wipe the, with alcoholic wipes and a toothpick

not necessarily cleaning but I had a question recently regarding bare metal models, such as my USAir 1990s livery. is there a way to really get those fuselages shining in a great way? any little trick of the trade other than a microfiber cloth or whatever?

I wouldn't call a tampo printed detail to be similar to an automotive coating😲
True, tampo printed details on die-cast are placed outside the clearcoat. Still, I have polished many models with the product I mentioned and have never damaged any markings.

Most are still clear coated, so I don’t think metal polishing products are effective on those models.

Would there really be a big difference between using tap/bottled water and distilled water? For years I’ve used just bottled water and microfiber cloth and have never had an issue.
