The fourth busiest in Italy with 11.500.000 pax per year and a plenty of airlines from all over the world (considering the three from USA, United, Delta and American Airlines, Asiana from South Korea, Air Transat and Air Canada from Canada, China Eastern from China). If until few years ago Venice, the most beautiful city of the planet in my opinion, was visited by tourists from all over the world mostly arriving by Cruise ships, in the last years "Marco Polo Airport" has become the main entrance to the city.I went last year for a short time. Never saw anything more then our gate though.View attachment 72051
Thanks Leo, thanks so much.Awesome stuff, Alessandro! Your airports have amazing details, specially in ground markings.
Thanks for the appreciation and the nice words. Yes, i use plywood 1 cm thick and then i paint it with water paint (black and white until reaching the right grey shade, different for the tarmac, the taxiway and the runway). Then i realize the tarmac grid using a pencil, squares or ractangles according to the airport type.I was scrolling through the thread today and I am so amazed by your handywork :O The ground markings are so detailed and faithful! I can really see your love and passion for the hobby, especially for the 1:500 scale!!! I want to ask what do you use for the base and tarmac? Is it a piece of wood and you paint over it?
Thank you Alessandro! I don't have space for a full scale airport atm but I would like to try and make just the ground (runway, taxiway etc). Thanks for the appreciation and the nice words. Then, once fixed everything with fixative spray, i can start to realize apron, taxiways, runway parking/taxiing lines and marks.
Having a layout Is not a big problem. Even small wood panels (50 × 30 cm, for example) can be good layouts for 1:400 and 1:500 models.Thank you Alessandro! I don't have space for a full scale airport atm but I would like to try and make just the ground (runway, taxiway etc).
