AV400 January Releases

Okay, I'll give you the fuselage width issues, as it can be quite subjective. But, come on, don't say you don't know what I'm talking about with the wing joint. That's a more objective argument.

Here are some photos of my comparison of NG and AV400 a while ago.

Now don't say you don't see what I'm talking about unless you want all your reviews to lose credibility.
Hyperbole much there :)

I see it more now, but it doesn't exactly jump out and isn't a massive issue. It's pretty subtle. I agree the NG is better.

Something's wrong with Av400 over the past couple of years.
After the zenith of their fabulous A380s, it's broadly been an unfortunate downturn.
Mould upgrades or introductions are regularly fraught with issues. Too much to handle? Experiments with magnetic gear, pressure of meeting production deadlines, pressure of 'innovating'...? Dunno. Their A330s & A340s, problematic as they were (though still better even then than the JC/GJ ones) were never seen again. The A330neo introduction was a disaster. The A350 upgrade pre-magnetic gear wasn't that great. The 787s have problematic magnetic attachments that don't sit flush, and engines that hang too low.
Sigh.
I agree they have had some mis-steps but the more recent A330NEOs have been quite a lot better and I'd argue the 787s are fine in terms of the mag gear and engine clearance - below AV top/NG bottom

They certainly aren't perfect but as with the JC moulds these are small degrees here. I do think several of you are rather harsh on AV400, especially when the comparison is always with the NG product and not Phoenix or JC Wings / Gemini

Thanks for the comparison photo - you may notice though that the Av400 NLG is larger/taller in comparison - after which, the engine still almost scrapes the ground (NG's has distinctly better and closer-to-accurate ground clearance)

Nonetheless, I do also have the Tanzania and the ANA as NG's forgotten their 788.

I agree the NG is better and you are right about the gear height too, but once again if the comparison is always with NG and people are only willing to buy NG moulds then all we get is a lot of people with very high standards getting upset every month that NG isn't making the models they want. Meanwhile some of those same people happily go and buy some Aeroclassics or Gemini releases with much more grievous mould and QC issues.

I just find it funny. I'm not saying (and never have) that any of the AV400 moulds (except the A380) are the best available BUT the A350s, 777s and 787s are comparable with most of the other offerings - better than Phoenix, arguably on par with the JCs and worse than the NGs (but not by miles). AV400 generally produces a solid product (albeit not perfect) with some innovative features.

They aren't my first choice most of the time, but they certain;y don't deserve to be avoided or given the level of hard time they often seem to get on here.

The nose gear are the a400 787 is too chunky and does not look realistic.

You're proving my point. I could say that the grey tyrehubs of the NG don't look realistic. It is easy to pick minor issues on moulds and blow them out of proportion. They both look pretty realistic and as good or better than those of Phoenix and JC Wings too. In my opinion all the AV400, NG and JC 787s score a 9/10.

Totally Agree

Hehe this is very true too 🙈

In my case, it was because those were the only two 77Ws I had in my collection. Now I have only one. Same with the A350, the only one in my collection is the ITA by AV400. Their offerings are just too modern for my taste. I don't even have 77Ws or A350s in stock at this time, though some GJ and Panda will eventually show up.

What makes me tick with AV400 is when many members of four online collecting community claim that their molds are the best because of the "level of detail." Statements like that basically invalidate many of the discussions we have here. Arguments like that imply that if Phoenix were to put jewel beacons and stick magnets on the landing gear of their 747s they would automatically become the best in the market.

In my opinion, the level of detail and innovation seen on many AV400s molds is simply interesting.

Yeah I understand. A350s and 787s are hardly the most exciting models. I like AV400 because they are at least trying new things and aren't jerks about it like some brands I could mention ;)

Any news about AV400 77Ws releases announced in 2023, such as their American Airlines 777-300ER N736AT?

I had a brief e-mail with AV400 today and he said:

'As for whether the A350s that have been announced are all ready, assembly is under way. More than 16,000 A350 models, try to be completed before the Chinese New Year holiday, but I don't think we can complete all of them.

As for the first 777-300 with detachable landing gear (more than 10,000 B777-300ER models), painting has already begun.'

I have mentioned the exhaust colour issue. Hopefully it isn't a real problem

Alright thanks for the clarification. Btw they could have chosen another reg rather than N736AT since GJ already made this aircraft

Honest question. what’s the hype around detachable gear about? I just can’t figure it out, it seems to only increase the chance of some parts being lost.

Curious what happened to the Cathay 350’s they announced a year ago with the rest of these A350’s. Are these part of the releases as well or did they abandon them due to NG releases?

Don't know. I'd think it's of interest if you want to display the model "in flight" but absolutely don't get the point of doing so as long as the wings don't flex accordingly.

...AV400 ... are at least trying new things...

Absolutely, I just 100% don't get why they are trying red jevel beacons on 787s and 350s. But gimmicks over realism seems to sell and AV400 sure have found their niche (?)

I don't need it myself, but it is another interesting feature and the aircraft do look good with the gear up, after all the models come with stands. It certainly doesn't bother me and I think there is some demand for it. If you take Phantom's line of argument about the wing config then displaying any model on a stand is heresy :)

There are over 30 AV400 A350s awaiting release, I don't expect any to be abandoned.

Like Richard said

was talking to the AV400 Factory manager and he told me that the A350s will make chinese new year and will ship next week to me

The A350s were pre produciton samples and was ready about a month ago but others are still in production and should be completed

The 777s yes thats a big problem and should be out soon
