Amsterdam Aviation Fair Acquisitions

Back from FRA and there are still plenty of AMS Fair models to show off. The next one is this Aeroflot Ilyushin Il-96. Phoenix have just re-released this but this version dates from 2012 and is just as good. The aircraft itself was delivered in July 1993 and withdrawn on April 30, 2014. It then went to Cubana as CU-T1717 in a hybrid scheme and was withdrawn on May 15, 2017.

Liking the detail on this aircraft!

The next model from my AMS haul is this rather unusual Japan Air Commuter NAMC YS-11. Not a model I had expected to buy but for 10 Euro hard to turn down. This one was a Gemini Jets release from 2004.

This aircraft was a 1970 build and delivered new to Bouraq Indonesia. She returned to Japan in 1978 for Toa Domestic and was named 'Rikuchu'. She went to JAC in 1994 and later was exported to the Philippines as RP-339 where she served with Aboitiz Air Transport and Asian Spirit.

The next model from my AMS haul is this 2006 made Freedom Air A320 from Phoenix. Although it uses the weak old Gemini mould it is the only representation for Air New Zealand's 'Kiwi Air Int killing' spin-off, which is a shame as they had some colourful A320s and 737s. This one is wearing a Warner Bros Movie World Gold Coast scheme.

The aircraft was delivered new to Freedom in July 2005 and served with them for a year, then being exported to the German register for Star XL (later XL Airways Germany). She was being readied for delivery to Air New Zealand, as ZK-OJL again, when the aircraft crashed int the sea off Perpignan on a training flight on November 27, 2008 killing all 7 aboard.
