Hello, all!

This will be the next project on the horizon. I'm between work right now and have some time to start something a few states down from my last OMA project. I'll be working on Amarillo Int. Airport(1:400 scale) in the great state of Texas. My last project out of Texas was San Antonio SAT, Terminal 2 which was demolished over a decade ago for a newer concourse @ SAT. I'll keep you all updated on the project from start to finish. Thanks again everyone!

Great stuff, specially knowing how nice your dioramas are. Any chance of seeing widebodies displayed in this one? :D
 
If you ever do an airport that has nonstop service from IND, please contact @Purpleplane about teaming up to show the aircraft movements and activity surrounding each end of a specific flight!
 
Hello, all!

Here are some images of the tarmac (airside and landside) of the current terminal @ KAMA. You'll notice a lot of blotched cement discolored sections near the where the terminal will be. This is the second change the terminal tarmac went through from the cement sections of the old terminal. On previous sections of the tarmac markings you can see airport terminal structure markings or girder/beam markings of the old terminal with small square indentations (which is still visible on Google Earth, or until it gets updated via satellite). I will attach two of the differences in satellite images below - white cement markings being more current and darker square markings of displacement girder/beams of the old structure being older. I'll post more as it comes along!

This looks incredible! Those ware marks (probably oil, etc) look fantastic. Amazing job!
How did you achieve the old gate markings? what product or technique? Ive been trying to achieve it for a while but haven't thought of the best way to do it.

The marks are just done with a white colored pencil. The old placement lines are usually white or dark grey on tarmacs. You can use traces or cut-outs like I've seen other people post on the forums. I've been using cut-out's for decades. Best to keep and re-use if needed. This project is a real challenge, which I enjoy, however requires much attention to differentiating aircraft placement spots along a curvilinear terminal.

White colored pencil is genius. such a simple but great idea. Ill give it a try. Also I agree, Ive been doing cut outs for the last few months and it works great. I save most of mine as well. Never know when you'll need them again! I label by gate number and airport as most airports are similar but not the exact same sometimes.
