Air India's Biggest Order

According to Simple Flying, Air India has just placed their biggest order. Totaling at least 470 aircraft ($68 Billion USD), it's a mixture of both Airbus and Boeing.

This is great news to hear, and one that a lot of us has been waiting for some time. I'm especially excited to see the A350s in the Air India livery, and to see the B777X given new life after years of stagnation!

The good thing is that NG has a mould for all most every plane ordered by Air India. Thats another good news.

I love AI's livery and it is so good to see them regaining some of their former glory. I wonder what role the existing 788s and 77Ws will play? I expect the latter to be replaced by 779s but I expect the 788s to stick around for a few more years. Hopefully, this means YMML's 788 service will get an upgrade. I have my fingers crossed for an A350, but anything would be exciting.

My guess the B777X and A350 will replace the already phased out B747 and some older B777s. But yeah, Air India's livery is one of my favourites! Can't wait to see some A350s in their livery!
