Some good usage to the 727-200 mould!

Squatchy’s direct has good photos and show the right color for the Delta 727. I went ahead and bought it.

Do you know if that widget 727 has the correct nose coloring?

Why does the shape and color look weird?
Yes the profiles are incorrectly replicated. The cheatline is too narrow almost a pinch at the cockpit window trailing edges which is incorrect. And the downward swoop is too far forward towards the nose as well.
Plus the fuselage appears grey and not metal - I couldn't find any photo of the actual plane in a grey belly

A nice selection as always but presumably this isn't the new factory's work? Interestingly many of the 727s have been made before (the DL part of a three pack by GJ, the US Air silver by GJ and the Hughes by Aeroclassics in a twinpack)

I'd be tempted by the Delta and Pan Am 727s if it wasn't for the finishing. Do you think the DL 727 has a grey belly forward too? Hard to say with the photos. Does the silver USAir also look like it is painted and not bare-metal?

I might get the Air Tran (but it does look like the roof is white not off-white) and maybe the US Air white top. Not sure.

If these don’t feature real metal then that’s a bummer! Especially for USAir. It’s hard to tell with the current pics. Although, my other old DL models from both AC, SMA, BB400 all have the silver belly too so I suppose those would all match 😂 Need to confirm before hitting the ‘buy’ button.

An interesting batch of releases. While the 727s are very welcome releases/rereleases, I do not like what is going on with the nose shape. Nor do I like the idea of a painted belly. Due to these faults, I will await further information before ordering anything,

That USAir white top 727-200 sure looks to me like the belly is painted gray. It could just be me or the photo, but it definitely doesn't look like bare metal, which is a shame. That one's been on my wish list for a while.

Squatchy's has alright pics of all of them: https://www.squatchysdiecasthangar.com/

I see inconsistent QC on the pics he has posted, some are pretty disappointing (🥱)... The good examples do look okay though. The Delta 727 is sold out already.

If it is, it does not seem to be an improvement over the old factory's output.

As far as the re-releases, in my case, it is one of those situations in which I can't bring myself to grab one of the old Delta 722s by GJ, but the "new-release" effect does make these AC ones look a bit attractive.

Judging by Squatchy's pic of the Air Tran, I'd be careful not to poke my fingers with that nose

It’s too soon for these to be from the new factory. I reckon it’s stock from the previous factory which will bridge the gap until production is underway and distributed from the new site

Indeed. I guess what gave some of us "hope" was the delay of the announcement. But probably the move only affected the distribution timeline and not production.

I'll be able to see them in person next week, so I'll make up my mind then. Shame about the QC, although I doubt there was much anyone could do about it considering the change of factories.
