cool!
Very well said and wholly agree.Wow, quite crazy deals! I can't believe these popped up.
However, I do have to say, with all due respect, I find it quite disappointing that it seems a large majority of these discounted models have been purchased before most of us had the chance to find them ourselves. I understand these deals are just as enticing to you as they are to other collectors, however it should be said that I myself, and presumably a lot of fellow collectors with smaller collections do not have stable income and loads of money to spend on [more] rare releases or oftentimes, speaking for myself, full-price releases.
I'm going to use Spirit for an example. I've been trying to find a good time to pick up ANY Spirit model and have yet to do so. It 100% feels like a letdown when someone who already has 6 Spirit 320/320Ns in their collection grabs up another 5 of them. Again, this is with full respect, I don't mean to come off as rude, and I understand that these purchases are first come, first serve, however, if I knew that I already had six of an aircraft, and found five more for a crazy deal, I would probably leave most of them for other collectors who could most definitely benefit more from them than I could.
I edited this bit on a little while after sending this, but I wanted to mention that I fully respect you as a creator and collector and your decisions. I don't mean any of this in a way to make you seem like a bad person or creator, just something that I think would disappoint or upset lower budget collectors overall.
I purchased one of the Spirit NEOs right before he placed his order. I was a little worried he would take the whole stock, but it looks like they had more of those than I thought.Wow, quite crazy deals! I can't believe these popped up.

I think I can resonate with this. I really enjoy diecast airplane collecting and get excited about new releases coming up, but unfortunately, I could only have so many opportunities to purchase models ever since I started in 2022. I'm very grateful for and content with my current collection, and I have a wishlist of models that I would love to acquire in the future, but I will need to wait some time before it is possible to do so again.Wow, quite crazy deals! Selling them at RRP so you can make a profit, or the price you paid for it of JetCollector? If so, what was the point in buying them all then....Once again, I'm happy to make a deal with anybody interested. Before I made the purchase, I checked each duplicate, and there were 20+ of each. To be clear, I'm selling the duplicates, and they will be going to good homes. I'm not going to hog them all.
Hey. After having a good read on several responses from Connor’s initial post, I can understand why some collectors feel the way they are currently - completely justified; however, from what I was told, Connor has admitted that it was a poor choice of wording, given this thread. To be quite frank, I personally do not care as much as to how much money someone spends - their money, their rules. All the more reason an individual has control over their purchasing power. That being said, I do agree with a few others that being more considerate here goes a long way in terms of allowing other fellow collectors a chance to snag some models that they have yet to acquire. I am hoping that at the very least, Connor will sell the aforementioned duplicates at the initial price listed on JetCollector or for even lower, as that’s would be an ideal approach. Likewise with everyone else, I’m sure these last few Black Friday deals has gotten everyone stoked and eager to buy - don’t blame ya there lol. Not trying to defend him here either, just seeing how things will play out here and how he’ll ‘resell’ them. I think it is a tad bit too late to delete the thread thereafter the variety of responses provided, as well as reversing history itself and refunding all the duplicates bought back to JetCollector, but I don’t really want this to become something blown out of proportion either. We’re all here to support and help each other in this niche hobby at the end of the day; life is too short to be making a fuss in this case - just my two cents.I have a hard time understanding why you would buy 5 copies of the same model and then claim you’re going to sell them back to other collectors. So you’re gonna make a profit off of them? Otherwise why buy them in the first place?
Either way - not a great look. If I were you, as a moderator, I’d probably delete this thread.
I can respect that… You as a consumer can purchase what you want with your own money when you want. However, when you decide to post the exorbitant amount of models you purchase in the name of getting likes for your social media presence I have an issue with that. It’s very distasteful granted nobody here is perfect but the things you do and say have consequences and as others have said this is a bad look. Following up saying you will sell them I don't think makes it look any better.I know a bunch of folks here have issue with Andrew Klein, but he actually watched his sale very closely and cancelled orders if he saw that folks were hoarding at his sale, and the typical eBay resellers were buying in bulk to double up on his generous sale. He wanted everyone to have a fair shot at his great deals.
Exactly.Nobody is debating the freedom one has as to how or how much money they are allowed to spend.
That has been said over and over again.
The issue here is flaunting it for clicks/likes/clout …whatever the reason may be and expecting to not get any criticism. 5x JetBlue A320s in the veterans livery were purchased, for example. Sure, you are allowed to buy all of these - but what is the reason for that? And why would you want to come on here and show that? It’s not a good look - even if it technically isn’t “wrong.” As it was said above, actions have consequences and this is why it’s important to think carefully and, in my opinion, with humility before posting this sort of thing.
Especially this time of year with a lot of less fortunate collectors who would have loved the chance at some of these models. That’s great that the duplicates are being planned to get sold to them but then what’s the point of buying them in the first place? still haven’t gotten an answer to that question.
This is a small hobby and I agree that we need to support each other but that does not grant a free pass to exhibit this sort of behavior.

As someone who has a major prominence within the aviation collecting community, it is no surprise that a level of professionalism must be maintained - that has also been emphasized many times before, which I definitely agree there. I think we are jumping a bit too far ahead a it in terms of maintaining assumption, if I am not mistaken. Firstly, it was presumed that this action was done out of spite to generate profit or revenue, and then another was assumed to generate/flaunt mainly likes and ‘clout’. Given the recent feedbacks and responses thereafter having made the initial post, it’s clear that this has the opposite effect. Yes, we have not received a clear, transparent reason as to why the models were purchased in the first place, only for the claim for them to be resold almost instantaneously thereafter the fact; however, we have also not seen any of the said (duplicate) models sold as of yet. Therefore, we also cannot assume that he is doing this to ‘solely’ generate profit unless we see that he is selling em at a higher price than it was initially sold at.Nobody is debating the freedom one has as to how or how much money they are allowed to spend.

Well as we continue with major technological advancement within our society, undoubtedly people have switched over to online purchasing mainly for the sake of convenience lol. I would be lying if I said I didn’t miss those times when physical stores had big Black Friday + Cyber Monday deals on selective merchandises. I’m sure you’ve heard of this recently, but a recent Black Friday sale transpired at Lowe’s where a woman was the lucky participant out of the first 50 customers who have waited outside for the door-crasher deals, which has said to include a $2000 voucher for any in-store appliance, alongside a few miscellaneous item - pretty sweet moment. Personally, I cannot leave the warmth of my home in the early dawn hours for these deals (it’s got to be a major cutting deal if you want to drag me out of bed for it lol), but I’m sure that it is well worth it for those who do choose to make it on time for the special deals - good on them!Back in my day people would come to stores and engage in battle amongst each other for discounted TV's on Black Friday. Perhaps it could have been worse
I don’t think it’s fair to call anybody’s criticisms on this thread an “attack.” A criticism is a judgement of one’s actions and many here, myself included, are not impressed with the actions demonstrated here.As someone who has a major prominence within the aviation collecting community, it is no surprise that a level of professionalism must be maintained - that has also been emphasized many times before, which I definitely agree there. Actions have consequences - I appreciate your re-emphasis on what was aforementioned. What I mean in terms of supporting each other is that while we may agree to disagree on certain subject matters, that doesn’t mean we can’t still provide insightful feedback and responses, rather than just solely attack them for it. As aforementioned, not defending the said action(s) here - just emphasizing that we should also hear more from Connor and allow him to state his side of the story (if he does decide to be transparent on this matter). Again, for me personally, I don’t really find that spending this amount of energy or time on this is necessary, but here we are. In terms of finding out that JetCollector typically tracks their inventory purchases and allowing a variety of folks to acquire models, while preventing the act of hoarding to maintain their presence, was a good fact to acquire; the more you know.
Overall, let’s just take a step back and see how things will play out. If Connor decides to chime in and provide additional reasoning for transparency reasons, great. If he chooses not to for any reason whatsoever, the recent given responses and criticisms have made it clear that it has not helped him promote his profile or major influence within the community. I think we all want to move on here at the end of the day, while hoping that people remain considerate to the best of their abilities. If they choose to not do so, that’s on them and potential setbacks may follow.
