Z²MODEL 1st release

TL : DR: A new brand Z²MODEL is going to release XiamenAir B737-800 B-5656 Daxing c/s using PandaModels mould according to the artwork provided below (credit to the original owner) with a limited run of 180pcs. ETA is this April. I really hope Richard's going to cover more on this venture. China is having a boom of brands and Panda's factory provides the production of these models.


The original WeChat post is as follow:

"After more than two months of waiting, the first product of Z²MODEL, Xiamen Airlines Daxing, has been officially put on pre-sale.



We will also bring you some different model collection experiences this time.

For the limited edition plastic model cards that are commonly seen on the market, although we have partially continued to use them this time, we also have a small innovation for you.

If you know MODELSALE well enough, you will know that the first product of MODELSALE is actually the nameplate of B2445. Of course, we think this nameplate is quite successful and it was out of stock in just two weeks.



It can be said that this nameplate laid the foundation for today's Z²MODEL.

We have always wanted to bring this type of metal nameplate to everyone in a different way, so 30 of our 180 limited edition cards for Daxing will be sold as metal nameplate limited edition cards.



Since this nameplate is only used as a pilot, each dealer will not get much, but we will conduct a market survey after the basic sales of this product are completed. If everyone's satisfaction with this type of limited card reaches 45% or more, We will gradually increase the quantity of limited edition metal nameplate cards in the future. One day in the future, all plastic limited edition cards will be replaced by limited edition metal nameplate cards. Z²MODEL's Daxing model is expected to be shipped in mid-to-late April. It will take some time to wait, but we will try our best to deliver this model to you as soon as possible. I hope all model friends will wait patiently.

Lots and lots of these little Chinese brands using Panda as an OEM nowadays. Unfortunately, quite a few of the releases recently have duplicated recent NG Models releases or even earlier Panda ones. This one is another example so a little curious as their first release choice.

I'm not really sure what they mean by 'nameplate' for B-2445 I assume that is a skin tag? However this aircraft is obviously still flying so I assume they mean the collectors card for some will be metal?

From their Wechat post it seems some kind of metal collector card, which mimics the information plate of the real B-2445. There are more and more of these Chinese brands using other moulds as OEM.

I do think replicas are pretty good, and for some people who missed out on previous NG, PH releases, including NG's recent releases of Air China titles, and Cathay Pacific, some of which were released when I was a student, that doesn't mean I'm willing to spend a few thousand more on so-called out-of-print.I've pre-ordered and look forward to the arrival of the model

I'm not against re-releases either, but this was one was made only recently. Ideally I think re-releases should focus on where the old model was on an inferior mould or made a long time ago. This model was made only in mid 2021 by NG on what is arguably a slightly better mould (and was also made by JC Wings too).

There are lots and lots of Chinese 737s that have never been made, Kunming Airlines for example, that would be a better choice.

Yes, but shipments were very small and it went out of print very quickly. At least as far as mainland China is concerned, I actually saw that PM released this early on, and on the NG side of things, I contacted my dealer and asked them to wish me luck with this pattern, and that Kunming Airlines was a good choice for it...

There's quite a lot of smaller Chinese airlines that are under-represented in 400 scale. Most of the releases focis on the big 3 and a bit of Xiamen, Sichuan, Shenzhen, Shanghai. Spring is an airline I'd like to see more for.

This one I'm also considering, after all the production is better than the JC and PH versions! But due to budget issues, I'm currently prioritizing the AV400 version of the Emirates A380 AE-EOE, the NG version of the Air China 737-800 B5425 expo, and the customization of two All Nippon Airways Cargo B767-300F/BCFs, the JA601F NEW OCS, and the JA605F Standard, while reserving funds for the two Delta Airlines NG versions of the 100th Anniversary Edition are reserved.

I'm going to buy a couple of them for modifying registration numbers hahahahaha because my main collection is Xiamen Airlines and it just so happens that these are the 787-8s I've flown on hahahahahaha , B-2769;B-2760;B-2762.

400 规模的中国航空公司中，有相当多的小型航空公司没有得到充分展示。大多数发布的内容都集中在三大航空公司以及厦门、四川、深圳、上海等航空公司。春秋航空是一家我希望看到更多报道的航空公司。

Agree with you about Spring Airlines, I'd most like to see Spring Airlines, Fuzhou Airlines, Jiangxi Airlines, Kunming Airlines, followed by Donghai Airlines, Qingdao Airlines, and at the moment the OME is mainly focused on junyao airlines, hahahaha.
