I noticed something peculiar of 1:400 scale: the majority of manufacturers love to produce many versions of the same model! Flaps down, flaps up, regular livery, special livery/liveries, old livery, new livery and all in the same batch. I imagine these eight Lufthansa Cargo MD-11F should be the record for 1:400 scale. Maybe the only two manufacturers not conformed at this marketing choice are Gemini and Phoenix. In 1:500 scale just Aeroclassics/Aero500 attempted to make this, for me crazy, production, with some B777-200s and B777-300/300ER: collectors where not ready for a batch invasion of the same airline and mould in three - four different versions and the quality was very poor with many flaws on the tampo print.YY Wings just loves Cathay and Lufthansa
Hi to all.
YY WINGS is producing eight Lufthansa Cargo MD-11F. Price from 49.95 to 52.95 euros. Old livery, new livery, flaps down, "WOW green sticker", "footprint livery".

I'm not sure if the HX MD-11 or the Panda is the better mould. But one thing is clear - Panda has really missed the trick by not releasing more MD-11s that are highly sought after by collectors! It's great to see HX doing so, with many iconic liveries in the pipeline.
These are present on an 11F but only really vissible on an aged and dirty paintjob. Certainly not something you'd see on an otherwise "factory fresh" looking 1/400 model. This might be something to consider on a 1/200, executed very faintly.TBH, these LH MD-11s look odd to me with all the passenger windows outlined on the model. I looked at many photos of the real thing (e.g. https://www.planespotters.net/photo/1263940/d-alcd-lufthansa-cargo-mcdonnell-douglas-md-11f) but couldn't see the slightest evidence that there have ever been any passenger windows. Whatever there is or was, it's simply not noticable.
So boring, and I never thought I’d say this for Cathay.YY Wings just loves Cathay and Lufthansa
No mould will ever be 100% perfect and if they are they’re very few and far between. As a general outlook for me anyway, I can’t see any flaws that truly stick out,but then I’m not saying there are none! I just like Hx compared to any and every other manufacturers version! These are present on an 11F but only really vissible on an aged and dirty paintjob. But I see many collectors are all over HX's overblown detailing.
Camouflaging mould shortcomings with excessive detailing works.
What I said was a more general statement, less aimed at their 11. I'm waiting on one of these to be delivered to have a closer look but don't see any glaring issues either in the pics I've seen so far. Would need good pictures. No mould will ever be 100% perfect and if they are they’re very few and far between. Had to look this one up and I agree. Doesn't look bad at all the way they printed it.I think Phoenix did a good job wiht the window plugs on their Federal Express example of a few years ago. Maybe Panda can pull it off in 1/400 scale too if they want.
