Yesterday's Airlines 10th Anniversary

Mid-November marks the 10 year anniversary of Yesterday's Airlines. I had been writing short airline histories, using my models, over at DAC for a while and the site began as a place to host those avhistory blog entries. Since then it has grown massively, to cover all things 400 scale and I hope that you find it a useful resource for die-cast in the scale. Over the years I've made some excellent friends through the site and built good relationships with most of the manufacturers and brands. I want to thank everyone who has helped me to get it to where it is today. In the past 2-3 years Yesterday's Airlines has expanded on Instagram and Youtube and gone from strength to strength. It is amazing to think of the changes in 400 scale we've witnessed over the past decade - the rise of exciting new brands and exceptional new levels of detail. The scale remains in rude health with some awesome models being made. I hope to continue to report on that and I'm working on a couple of new projects with partners, which if they come to fruition should be great. Thanks all.

Congratulations and more anniversaries ahead! I'd say Yesterday's Airlines is the most important discursive resource in 1:400 right now. Power to You and all the best for the future - looking forward to all the projects you have in store for us. Cheers!

The first time I learned about Yesterday's Airlines was during my collecting hiatus. It must have been 2018. I was googling something about Viasa or Avensa and came across one of Richard's articles. I had a website at the time, but it was effectively abandoned. Finding Yesterday's Airlines motivated me to get back into collecting and recovering my site (yeah, it's always about me... I know 😅)

It is no secret that we've had our quibbles. But it is also no secret that we've had some good times too.

Thanks for all you have done for the hobby bud! It has not gone unnoticed 😉

Thanks mate. I know we've had our difficulties but I consider you to be a friend nowadays and I appreciate YV400 as well.

Congratulations Richard. I've been a fan since I found your website back in 2019. I always enjoy your great work. Here's to another 10 years at least.
