Where to get reference material?

For you guys doing 3D printing, etc... where do you get your reference material? Drawings, dimensions, etc. to work from?

EDIT: I'm asking in reference to the aircraft themselves, not airports. Apologies for any confusion!

I’ve used Google Earth, which has a measurement tool, to plan tarmac layouts to paint later. I measure one edge at a time, and divide by 400. When I made a 3D-printed terminal, I imported Google Earth for the building layout, and kind of just eyeballed the height based on photographs. I made the 3D model in life size and then scaled it down by 1/400.

This approach only works for modeling real airports. If you’re building something fictional, you’ll probably have to measure from scratch.

Sorry, I should have been specific. I meant for the aircraft themselves, not airports.
