The Rebirth of Xin Long

Looking good! What do you use for the ground markings like taxiways, parking stands, etc?
I've always used UniPosca pens for my dioramas. Just wondering what other techniques can be used...

Yes it is paint pens for me as well. Molotow was the brand. Got them in NZ. I wrote about them back in 2015 with some images:

Great! They work just like Uni Posca pens. These are really good for diorama making.
Here's mine during the early stages of development:

The paint pens have been in action and the new Xin Long expansion is coming along nicely. Note the new T2 gates at the top left, addition of blast barriers, more detail around the cargo terminal and gate lines. Still more to do with roads, gate markings and development of the fire station area to come.

Well done Richard.

I have had issues painting the ground markings on my projects. Used paint pens, but the cardboard sucked the paint in. In the past, I have used crayons, but they are not great for larger projects.

What material did you use for your surface?

BRO! I am in awe at the talent of people on this website! My jaw is agape at how realistic this all looks! I feel like a negligent model airplane parent because my airplanes are homeless desk urchins by comparison!

Thank you. To be honest I don't consider myself very skilled. It just requires looking at a few airport photos and a selection of model paints and stationery. I don't use anything much more exciting than a pencil, ruler, protractor (for curves), masking tape, humbrol model paints, paint pens and glue stick.

3D printing has been really helpful. There's a lot of cool GSE and accessories available now at good prices
