@MIAv8Diecast and I have dubbed the models using this mold as “Tail Sh*tters” after a small typo and now the name has stuck for me. Feel free to join in that fun🤣. Otherwise it’s a fun model to have in the collection, my first USAir 737 in the red on metal scheme.

My first Avro and I gotta say on first impressions I really like this! It’s by no means perfect but for 2007 standard it’s really well built. It even features rolling gear??? Which mold features rolling gear for the first time? 2007 seems a bit early for a model this small to get that treatment.

Good question. When I started collecting in 2009 many Aeroclassics molds already had them (727s, DC-8s, DC-10s). I bought a GJ A380 in 2012 that had rolling gears.

I have a Blue Box 747 from 2007 whose gears roll, but I don't think they were meant to.

In the 1990s, Herpa 1:500 had rolling gears, but they were grossly oversized (still looked pretty good when compared to toys). They went to non-rolling gears when they became more detailed.

Seems like maybe this RJ was near the first to get rolling gears if that was back in 2007. I know a lot of the Airbus/Boeing narrowbodies (at least GJ) never got rolling gears till almost 2010 or way later. Very interesting!

Love the RJ-85! One of my favorite Gemini molds!

It‘s a misisng piece in many collection. Glad that you were able to have it. I also have this same model with the same problem (fading reg and flags on port side of the model), which <i can now conclude the defect is somewhat systematic and could be related to the cradle.

15. Comac C919 China Southern by HX. the model is well manufactured, but it is oversized. HX seems to be inherited oversized mould from JC. it is 1mm wider then NG mould what makes 40cm difference in real scale. I am considering getting this model by NG when it is released

Has the white turned cream coloured? I feel like most panda a330 suffer this issue or were always like that to begin with
I dont think so. maybe it is not absolutely pure shiny white, but it is definitely not creamy. I took photos on sunset so it has warm yellow ligh what affected the colors
