Traded it with my friend and knew of the issue.Question. Did you buy it at a discount knowing it was defective, or did it just come like that and you are voluntarily opting to keep it and fix it?
question, do you know how your friend wipped off some of the titels and text (but kept the white paints intact)A new addition to- another E170 yet it is a bit defective. Fixable though.View attachment 76373

I’m just gonna remove the forward printing and use decals.Normally, if the main body is all white the coat is pretty solid (has been baked), so you can wipe titles and markings off while preserving the white background. If the model has a silver belly and the top is white, then it is very difficult to remove titles and markings without turning a seemingly simple project into a major undertaking.

Some Gemini jets you can literally wipe the details off with your finger… I have a few I can’t touch for this exact reason.question, do you know how your friend wipped off some of the titels and text (but kept the white paints intact)I wanted to try this on a few models of mine.

NG too. My American Airlines 788's windowline is slowly vanishing. The idea about the decal application is well heard. Some Gemini jets you can literally wipe the details off with your finger… I have a few I can’t touch for this exact reason.
Interesting — I haven’t had this issue with a lot of my new Geminis. Are your fingers possibly coming into contact with oils or anything abrasive? There’s a reason why Todd handles his 1:200 models using the plastic wraps that come with the model, and I also know a collector who uses rubber gloves to handle his. Some Gemini jets you can literally wipe the details off with your finger… I have a few I can’t touch for this exact reason.
