Show Your Latest 1:400 Purchase

I purchased these on eBay from Future Wings ☺️ really fast shipping too!

Exactly! Mine shown up in 10 days in Europe, which is amazing!

I continue to say and ask to manufacturers that the landing gears are the most fragile and most important part of the model so they MUST strengthen them and make them almost indestructible!
I really wish manufacturers would sell packs of landing gears and wheels. AeroClassics did that before but hardly any other manufacturer does that. Would be great for repairs.

Phoenix Air China A321-200 B-6917. Even this model had the nose landing gear ruined and i tried to save it.

Just wondering: are your posting the latest arrivals in your collection, or these are just random models you have? 😅

By the way, I fully agree about manufacturers selling spare parts. Not just gears but also engines and even horizontal stabs. These would be simply stunning and I really think there would be a market for these. I think even separate wing in pairs could also be sold!

Technically they are "latest arrivals" because i never took them out of the boxes. Now i am checking them for the first time and, along with the big question mark of not understanding why I bought all these models, looking at all these beauties never looked so deeply i started to love them with the (crazy!) wish to buy more of them...having almost all Chinese airlines this means updating them with the 1:400 B737 MAX and A320neo family models.

I know you have a lot of models, more then I could ever dream of having. But - I sometimes don’t get the point of purchasing a model and then leaving it in the box. Can you explain a bit more?

Well, there was a period when i was buying about 100 models per month (1:500, 1:400, 1:200 military). They were so many models that, very often i did not check them. I was use to check just 1:500 models because (WRONG THOUGHT!) i thought that only Herpa and 1:500 scale had a bad quality check. Then i understood than even 1:400 scale was full of flaws, errors, quality check issues and so on. Then, in the previous house, i had few space for storage so i was desperately searching for space and this made the control go into the background as i was sure that the model was in the box and would not fly away!

Thank you. This makes a lot of sense!

This is a very niche airline, a surprise even for me because i did not remeber of this model.
Aeroclassics Sriwijaya Air B737-300 PK-CKI with "I love Papua" sticker. Sriwijaya Air is an Indonesian airline with a fleet of three B737-500 and three B737-800WL. Without doubts this model is one of my most precious.

Resonate with this completely
I have similar shortage of display and even storage space. (thus 'planes_on_A_shelf' lol)
So I have lots of models that I had / have bought and frankly never opened to inspect or 'hold' even. I think easily 90-95pc of the models I own have never been out of their box/ cradle - so yeah I get that feeling of them being 'new' arrivals

A new arrival earlier this week I forgot to show off! This is a USAir MD-82 N817US. This model was released by Jet-X in 2006. This is one of 6 USAir MD82s released by them that year. This one is the shiny polished chrome version, with a slightly more dull version of N817US made as well. The other releases were in the older orange scheme with another shiny chrome and dull chrome version, plus an exclusive one with a blank tail for Jet-X Club Members. Jet-X made a total of 13 USAir MD82s from 2003-2006. We never got another MD82 from any brand until GeminiJets’ orange and red schemed jet from 2023.

We need more modern molded USAir MD80s NG!!

Thought you said no more buying airplanes…

Jokes aside, beautiful model! I don’t think I have a JetX model in my smaller sized collection. (Compared to others)

I understand about the storage/display space but how can you resist the urge to not at least inspect the model lol? I would rather open the plane box under the shower than to find out later that a model is broken/damaged and not being able to replace it.

Hard to stay on hiatus when there's good releases to chase 😁 another package arrived today from JetCollector, containing the gorgeous China Airlines A350 Carbon Fiber livery. A friend kept showing off his copy so I had to snag one (in fact, it was their last in stock!). I also got the Reeve Aleutian Electra off their clearance section just so I had something extra to add. It's a neat little bird that will fit in with my other Electras.
