Finally got my Gemini United Express E175 from Pandafox. all seems good except the usual engine upward tilt (aggravating) and my nose gear seems a bit short as it sits downwards at the nose, noticeable in person too. Gemini quality stays lacking from time to time😅

Sadly not a good looking model IMO :( the engines are strange, the nose gear is too small and that whole front section looks off. The shape of it, I mean. The cockpit windows also don't help, they seem a bit too low. Compare the front section of this model and the new E195-E2 by Gemini and there will be a huge difference

yeah it’s a bit of a bummer, especially with all these price hikes in recent months. What happened as some older E170/75s were near perfect??? The only reoccurring issue is the engine tilt which is inexcusable now imo for how long it’s been an issue. If I had a case for returning i’d consider it but nothings technically “wrong with it”.

Some of the right side passenger windows under the United titles are smudged off. You can cite printing defects

Those engines o_O. For 50 euro I would expect a beter looking model. The cockpit section is off but could life with that, but those engines are just bad. Very badly done. The one on the right is bended upwards a lot.
Thank u for the pictures, will delete that one from my wish list.

The E170/175 sits tail down (irl) - what we see is a recurring GJ issue unfortunately - because of which I avoided the recent DAL .
The short nlg makes them fit the engines awkwardly to prevent them scraping the ground.

It's not that they don't have the right nlg part - the GJ Horizon retro and the JC Fuji Dream ones have the correct part fitted.

Only GJ/JC can explain what goes on (GJs are made in the JC factory for those who are unaware)

New arrivals:

After reading Richard’s recent review on the TAAG B773 I just had to have it. Seen these 777’s on my trips far away and always like this livery.
This is D2-TEK from Aviation 400. Here arriving at Recife.

I may only buy this one now if I get the opportunity to see it in person... I have seen some that look better than this example but you're always taking a gamble when it comes to GJ QC from copy to copy.

Do we think it’s worth it to try and get a replacement? Or just flat out return? How does everyone else’s look so far?
Some may shun me for this, but I would probably request a return and purchase from another retailer to expedite the exchange process if you're feeling impatient. I have requested replacements for much less than this so I would.

Here in Belgium, there aren’t any physical stores to check before buying. Not that I know off actually.

The downturn of online shopping. I buy all my models online. Haven’t been to a physical store in ages. My last time was 2021 in AMS Schiphol. What I do if I want to see pictures of the model, especially GJ, JC, Phoenix and Aviation 400, I search them on eBay to check the model before ordering it at my usual store.

Oh wow, this is awesome! Great models, and so cool to see them in Recife :LOL:
By the way, TAAG used to have a few charters to Recife and Salvador back in the early 2000s using their wonderful B747-300.
They used to take Brazilian workers from Angola back to Brazil for the holidays at the end of the year.

I totally understand as the nearest store to me in Detroit Michigan is either in Chicago or Dayton Ohio which is 3 to 4 hours one way via car... I'm hoping to go to the Chicago fair in November and may take a look at this one in person, but that opportunity is few and far between.

I may do this just to get it over with this one time. I haven’t found a favorite shop to purchase from generally every time just yet.

Wildcat Diecast has been super-fast and responsive and has been super helpful when I have had issues. I wouldn't be afraid to ask for photos of a model you want either if you're super concerned about QC.
