Such a shame the stabilizers did break and not the miracle. But still a very nice find.My latest arrival from eBay: 2004 BigBird Cathay Pacific B747-400 VR-HOO Lettuce Sandwich. The seller wrote in the description that the horizontal stabs could break during transit. I was the one looking for a miracle to happen but it did not. I was just told by Rich that the model was listed in the zinc rot list. I should have had read it more carefully. Overall I still do not regret with this purchase.

Very nice! Shame about the v. stabs, but the 747 wears the lettuce sandwich beautifully as always. Very nice! Lovely model, great choice of model! The Brazilian National team decided to pay a visit today! Os Canarinhos chegaram!
Apologies for the last photo, it's not of an airplane, but he is in the air. Onwards to number 6!

Some epic grabs! Really like that Fedex 777, one of the better look interactives yet!
Nice model. Hopefully it can be easily repaired. Looks like one stabilizer is broken, perhaps a replacement can be found.

Those Lettuce Cathay Pacific 747s look really nice. Good find despite the defect.
Thank you all for your kind comments. It is truly sad that zinc rot is an irreversible process. Thanks to @Purpleplane for your suggestion of finding a replacement. There is always a light at the other end of the tunnel, go through the bad luck of receiving the model not as I anticipated, a solution has been found. Fortunately (or unfortunately perhaps), I have a broken SQ B744 Herpa 1:400 which I was gifted when I was a kid. The gears and wings are somewhere but the 2 horizontal stabs are still intact and glued on the model. With gentle force I managed to get the two parts out intact (one h-stab still has the original Herpa cradle piece that I need to trim off and then sanded), then glued on the model. I hope to have a full thread for it very soon.Very nice! Shame about the v. stabs, but the 747 wears the lettuce sandwich beautifully as always. Great purchase!
Looks awesome, much nicer than the Gemini one. Great choice of model!NG Models Lufthansa Cargo Triple seven D-ALFF taxiing out earlier…View attachment 7869
Great buy! I think I saw this model for sale too, it looks stunning!Another eBay find of mine and I was extremely surprised that no one bid for this gorgeous model. Introducing BigBird 1:400 2006 Cathay Pacific Cargo B747-267F B-HVX in the Brushwing livery. The cockpit window in this one is kinda high so I think this might explains why it is not highly wanted. There is an extra detail on this model that the real one does not feature, which I will share in my next writing.

Here she is with the other 4 BB mould B747 that I acquired only in this year. Here are the only 5 BB 747s I have till now. In the weekends I try to work to save the Lettuce B744. I just really hope that the rot won't spread further... I have just recently reorganized my cabinets making space for the new arrivals.

Very nice! Love the Varig, their livery suits the MD-11 very well. While others happily share their recent arrivals I'd also like to join the bandwagon with a pair of ancient and modern

The reg is a fake one - though the box art features PP-VPP. Seems like she should have a chance to visit Kai Tak(The airport of my hometown before 1998) in Varig colors on an insanely long journey of GIG-GRU-JNB-BKK-HKG
Modern - NG Models LAN Chile B787-9 CC-BGI

An aircraft-livery combo that will unlikely appear at my hometown anytime (Hence not fitting my major collection criteria) - but my desire over the LAN colors meant it will be part of my collection for a long time to come.
