KAL 747-400 (HL7488) by SQ. These are the closet things to Herpa Premium in 2025, nothing in 1:200 or 1:400 matches the level of detail. Also a breath of fresh air for someone who’s been stuck with subpar KALs for years.


Garuda 737-800 (PK-GMM) by NG. No mould issues, detailed engine fans, and properly fitting/rolling gears are welcome improvements over JC/IF. Is the detailing quite as nutty as SQ? No. But they’re outliers, I’d say this is well worth the money.

Can I ask whether your stand fits into the Garuda? I received one of the Qantas 737's, and the hole in the aircraft is a circle, however the stand is a rectangle, so it is practically useless

There’s a translucent plastic clip included with the landing gear that attaches to the rectangle. The wings slide into that clip.

How do you like SQ wings? I only just discovered them and I'm trying to gauge where they fall compared to JC Wings and Inflight.

For me SQ a bit higher than JC Wings, but classic Inflight is the best. I have a lot of 747 Inflight and they still hold up. Solid models.

For me SQ a bit higher than JC Wings, but classic Inflight is the best. I have a lot of 747 Inflight and they still hold up. Solid models.

I have been unsure on Inflight 747-400 mold as it’s still the old cradle mold. That’s why I have been really curious about SQ as they look really nice.

That Kal 744 looks awesome! Does SQ have intention to get into 1:400? We could use another quality rendering of Her Majesty. The nose and brow region of this SQ version seems spot on.

SQ and HX are the same manufacturer as far as I know, HX being the one with 1:400 models and SQ with 1:200

We already have that, HX is produced by the same factory. Their releases have been more sparse however.
