Show off your model airports!

While looking through MAF I had realized though there are threads for model airports they are usually focused on one person's airport. So I'm going to change that with this thread! I currently don't have access to my own model airport pictures and the airport is under going some runway and taxiway fixes anyways but feel free to show off your own creations here!

I currently have Sioux Falls (home airport) and Des Moines. Oklahoma City has been decommissioned for the moment and am looking for a new airport.

I’ve also done a number of other airports, though those are temporary setups and are torn down after filming.

It doesn’t have a name, but it helped me learn what to do and not to do for my next build. Which should be starting soon.

While I don't have my own, I have modeled and 3d printed several for others. Here are pictures of a couple.

Currently, I only have a fictional airport in service but its days are limited as I am planning on selling most of my 1:400 collection. I will Be Keeping a few models but I will make a thread later about that. I will have one 1:400 model airport left most likely Hamilton On. but I haven't 100% decided yet. But probably more exciting will be the 1:200 Lethbridge Model airport it will be super packed with lots of action!

Wow looks amazing! Especially for 1:400 scale terminals (that's what I'm guessing it is)

Sounds interesting! Should keep us updated on both the 1:400 airport and the 1:200.

This was my airport back when I collected scale 1:500 models.

That is beautiful, my man!

I have a bunch of airports all in 400. They include;

1. Sunshine Coast Airport (Real)
2. Hamilton Island Airport (Real)
3. North Queensland International Airport (Fictional)
4. Southern Great Dividing Range International Airport (Fictional)

And one more currently in the planning stages, which is my local airport - Gold Coast Airport. I have plans of doing a 1980's version and a modern version.

Impressive!

Finally got the last of my jet bridges by JC WINGS. Although pricey, they are the best in 1:400 scale - and after some customizing, look even better. Would like to experiment with some weathering techniques to make them even more realistic... Welcome to suggestions.

Here is a look at the results so far...

Just made finished setting it up for the first time, on my old Brisbane/North Lakes fictional mat. It’s based out of Phoenix, AZ and called Sidles International Airport! I’m so excited to introduce it as I think it looks very nice and has a great over all vibe. A video will most likely come out on my YouTube, but I don’t have an upload schedule or anything like that so maybe not. Anyways, here are the routes (Note: it says PHX because that’s where the airport is based). First off, there are two international flights, both are long-haul and served exclusively by Delta. The route to Amsterdam Schiphol is on the Delta A350-900, LHR is on the A330-900neo. Also, the flight to ATL is on a Delta A321neo. Frontier only has one route, to Denver, on the A320neo. Southwest flies the 737-800 to Dallas Love Field, and American flies to DFW on the A320. Speaking of American, they fly the A321 to CLT. JSX flies their ERJ145 to Oakland. UPS flies the MD-11 to Louisville and the 747-8F to Honolulu, although being a cargo airline, it tends to change frequently. United flies their 737 MAX 8s to IAH and EWR, and their 757s to ORD. The largest operator, Alaska Airlines flies their E175s to LAX in the morning, and SFO in the evening. They have an A321neo based here, it flies out to JFK. Lastly, their 737-800/900ERs fly to PDK and SEA respectively.FC609322-5041-4155-9483-344CE165E910.png
Now, enjoy some photos of the airport!
