Question on JC Wings 1:200 Stand

Hi - new member here to this forum and would like to introduce myself. I have a small collection of 1:200 and 1:400 scale models, the latest of which is this JC Wings Singapore Airlines A380 in the SG50 livery (1:200).

I’m thoroughly enjoying this model but am a little hesitant with the “new style” stand that came with it. I seem to recall reading somewhere that this stand is prone to breaking and would like to get feedback from other collectors on their experience with this stand. If it is true that the stand is not reliable, I would also appreciate your recommendations on alternative stands that can support the A380, or whether it’d be okay to simply display this A380 on its landing gears.

Thanks in advance for your feedback!

Firstly, A big welcome to the community! We are glad to have you here. I am not mainly a 1:200 collector, but I was discussing this style of stand with my retailer before I purchased a model. He said that he doesn't trust them with his models at home, but they are still good display solutions. I personally only use the Gemini200 display stand, I have never had any problems with that. Hope this helps. :D

This stand came with my KE A380 and 747-8. It's quite wobbly, so I don't feel comfortable at all using it with those chunky quadjets. They sit perfectly fine on their landing gears. 20221122_170939.jpg

Thanks Qantas992 for the welcome. I’ll look into the Gemini200 stand.

Thanks pons399. Those Korean planes certainly look regal!

Any concerns with the landing gear eventually giving way due to the weight of the 747 & A380? Those models are really heavy.

Nah, there are multiple landing gear bogies to distribute the force. The A380's nosegear is a little wobbly, but it isn't an issue for static display. 747 is rock solid.
