Patriot IIAF KC-747 5-8107

Another Patriot release I acquired at the same time as the AOA 767 (and before the current conflict) is the IIAF KC 747 5-8107. This version comes with quite a set of accessories. As well as the usual postcard and stand there's a collector's card, velcro badge, 2 versions of the refueling boom and gear up door components. The landing gear sticks on only with sticky plastic and not magnets, which isn't ideal but I'm happy to display the model gears up anyway. Sadly this 1971 build ex-TWA frame (as N93118), originally part of Eastern's cancelled order and sold to the Imperial Iranian Air Force in 1975, was destroyed by US-Israeli airstrikes at Tehran on March 7 during their illegal war with Iran. Not a fan of the Iranian regime by any stretch, but this conflict is not only ludicrous but also a disgrace in every way imaginable.

This model would have made a decent review, but sadly the future of the website aspect of Yesterday's Airlines is currently under review itself due to the need and difficulty of moving the site to a new host.

I knew it. There must actually be a law that prohibits the use of the correct shade of gray on 747 model wings.
How else could one explain why they use the correct shade on the WBF, only to then revert to the usual light gray on the wing?

What a lovely model, I'm glad HX has been making these unique models no one else has touched. It's been on my radar for a while as well, since I wasn't too keen on the twin set that was released earlier.

I've been trying to lobby HX to make the IRIAF counterpart in the 80's color scheme to reflect how it looked during the Iran-Iraq War(particularly the H3 Airbase Raid by the IRIAF)

Technically a Saha Airlines hybrid scheme from the 90's but still gets the general jist of it. Could be done as a custom job

Here it is in IRIAF colors

not really the place for a political discussion. Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion based on their own livelihood, geographic and political region, etc. Im sure there are lots of political forums out there if you’d like to express your opinions :)

^^^maybe you can't read, I am not the one who made the thread political

I wonder why HX has used removable gears for only its Patriot 747’s? I know they are plastic on the Patriot and wish they were metal and magnetic. Even so, it would to be neat to have a few HX 747s displayed gear up.

enjoy your freedom from Japanese slavery too
Imperial Japan never had any plans to invade Continental Europe, let alone the British Isles for that matter. They wanted to subjugate Asia-Pacific. Even if the Axis powers won the war Japan wouldn’t have controlled any of the European colonial powers themselves.

you're welcome for America saving the world from nuclear threats,
It doesn’t work that way. There’s a concept in geopolitics called MAD, or Mutually Assured Destruction. The world wasn’t ‘saved’ by one country eliminating nuclear danger. It was kept in a fragile balance because all nations with a nuclear arsenal knew using nuclear weapons would mean catastrophic retaliation, causing the end of the world as we know it. Please curb your American Exceptionalism.

what gives you the right to determine if a war is illegal
The Charter of the United Nations, signed and ratified by almost 200 nations from across the world, including the United States, establishes that war is generally illegal when a state uses force against another state without a lawful claim of self-defense or authorisation from the UN Security Council. And even in war, intentionally targeting civilians, bombing schools and hospitals, or launching indiscriminate attacks can seriously be constituted as war crimes regardless of the justification offered for the war itself.

Illegal? So the US should have just allowed iran to fund terrorism around the globe and develop nukes? Great idea to let a regime who kills it's own people and fund and train terrorists to kill innocent civilians around the globe have nukes and a mass of ballistic missiles!
