On March 17th, 2021, GeminiJets announced their March 2021 Releases. This was during and right after the period of when GeminiJets was disliked by many for their quality control. But, many could argue that this month and the April announcements could have been what changed that reputation. This release contained the following in 1:400
- Southwest 737-700 N714CB “Classic Retro”
- Amerijet 767-300F N349CM
- Jet2Holidays 757-200 G-LSAN
- Frontier A321 N709FR “Steve the Eagle”
- Kalitta Air 727F N726CK
- SAS A321neo SE-DMO
- United Express CRJ-200 N246PS
- NATO A330 Voyager T-055
And of course, the Delta CRJ-900 N821SK
This model was so important, because the last time it was made was in 2008, 13 years before the release of 821SK. It was a Comair CRJ-900, registered N679CA.

By 2021, this model was selling for upwards of $100+, at the minimum. CM Aviation has a great video about that model and what it was selling for. People were begging for another release, and so when March of 2021 rolled around, people scrambled to get this model. Retailers limited people to only get 1-2, so some people ordered 10+, knowing they would only get 3-4.
N821SK sold out quickly, and another production run was made in April, along with the American CRJ-900, which sold out in 4 hours. By the time N821SK had reached collectors around the world, there were problems. Like, problems that, in my opinion, made the model unenjoyable. Now, I still love my model of it, it just has its issues.
First of all, the horizontal stabilizers are angled upward. It’s so bad on mine that I’ve been tempted to break them off and glue them in the right way. The gear are attached to the fuselage of the aircraft, and are in result, way too close to each other.
Here are some pictures of mine, in which I received in May of this year.

In the end, most of these problems were fixed in the January 2024 rerelease. Also, my American CRJ-700 and my Air Wisconsin CRJ-200 have no problems, and look better in terms of the stabilizers and wheels.
So, was this model worth the hype?
In my opinion, as somebody who loves GeminiJets, no. If this model was the same quality as the 2024 release, it would be worth every penny. But, this was not the model people should have been expecting, judging that the 2008 release, even being 13 years older, had visibly, none do those issues.
I do not have the 2008 or 2024 release, so my opinion can be factually wrong. Thank you for reading, and I hope to make more of these short articles!
