NG Models MD-80s

I often get the feeling people think I'm biased towards NG over other brands so for some balance I decided to take a look at NG's MD-80 usage so far. For all the plaudits the mould deserves the release numbers have been poor. I own 8 of the 15 releases to date but there are huge amounts of others awaiting release. It doesn't help that the wish and commission centre really has made a mess of MD-80 wishes too. Here's a look at the mould, production so far, an update on wishes and a pathway for getting more Mad Dogs to market on the best mould.

I do wonder why brands spend tons of money in developing moulds and fail to release models using them...
NG seems to have abandoned their 767s, the MD-80 release pace is very slow, and don't let me get started with their A340s.

JC Wings have their An-26/An-32 and releases are still very slow aswell.

NG should probably revise their 767-300 mold though as it has some pretty glaring weaknesses. It might be good if they hold off on those for now.. just my thoughts. I’m still shocked those AA MD-80’s haven’t sold out yet.

Aside from the winglets it doesn't really have any issues. They'd be better off just not making 767s with winglets. They aren't really 767s in my mind anyway :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Cockpit window printing and winglets are the only issues I should emphasize. But on the -300, proper winglet size is everything. Yes they should focus on 767’s with no winglets as I do love my AA 767-200 even with the cockpit printing and all around is really nice.

While it’s disappointing that NG isn’t utilizing the MD-80s, especially for those outside of China, I’m glad other manufacturers are stepping up to the plate and are making their own releases, even if the products are inferior. I’ve always been a fan of choice with the Mad Dog in this scale even if it means you have to settle for less.

At least all manufacturers are trying to compete in this space for once as the thirst is unbearable… Choice of brand is better for everyone and even if NG isn’t producing in the target areas we all want with their MD-80, at least they’re making them at all which provides a lot more optimism than we have had in years past.
