NG CRP Requests

Brussels Airlines A319 OO-SSR (other reg. acceptable) 2006-2021 livery

In a fashion fairly befitting of my name, I have decided to request a 1/400, A319 in the older Brussels Airlines scheme. This is a model we have yet to see in scale, and I feel would certainly be well received by the European community. My hope is that, in typical NG style, they may be inspired to release this alongside the other highly requested, and truly iconic, line of ‘Belgian icon’ liveries.

As a Belgian in 1/400, trying to complete my silly dream of collecting all Brussels Airlines in 1/400 has proved difficult, notably the decade old release from Aeroclassics — OO-SNA, OO-SNB — in the regular livery. These specific models are few and far between these days, and are the last hurdle in my entire collection.

In regards to our special liveries, seeing these aircraft bare symbolic values that my country is famous for, brings an immense sense of patriotism, something which my country could do with a bit of right now. In a country where language and politics often set people apart, these aircraft have become a point of pride for Belgians alike. Spotters and enthusiasts from both Wallonia and Flanders can stand together on the same perimeter fence, talking, photographing, and simply enjoying the moment of seeing their flag carrier represented in such a creative way. Plus, they look fricken cool!

Of course, this is simply my little wish. Please don’t feel in any way obliged to contribute — I just wanted to share the reasoning behind it, and why I think it would mean a lot to see in 1/400. I’ll showcase just a couple other requests I believe are worth a mention. :)

I know I posted this a while back in a Facebook group, but not here yet. There have been only 2 Ethiopian 787-8s made, one by Witty Wings and one by PHX, and these are well over 10+ years old (I'm assuming they were made as Ethiopian received many of the first 787 airframes. Looking at the reg ET-AOQ, this was the first one built for the airline). ET-ASH is the standard Ethiopian 787 as both of their -8/9s are GEnx equipped. ET-ATG is special, not just for the Star Alliance titles, but it is a member of the "Dirty Dozen" set of 787s that were plauged by QC issues. As these were supposed to be delivered to ANA, they all use the Trent 1000s. These frame are: ATG, ATL, ATJ, ATK, and ATI. ATG is my preferred choice over the rest as it has the aforementioned Star Alliance scheme.

I joined the 788 wish as soon as it was made - ET was one of the earliest operators worldwide - and I too have been waiting for NG's - hopefully we see it soon enough - but NG has weirdly dragged its feet on the 788 - no ANA yet?! Can one imagine! But yeah, there's quite a few ANAs approved so let's see 🤞🏼

As a person who collects Japanese models, an ANA 788 would be amazing! NG has really ignored ANA lately.

Them being an early operator of the type is the reason both examples were made. PHX and Witty both made ET-AOQ which is line number 49 and was either the 2nd or 3rd customer. These things reflect that fact as they are both 2013 models when the airframe would be going through its first year of operations. In fairness the NG 787-8 mold is new as it was a '22 release, so there isn't too much time for them to make everything. However, a lot of the -8 contain duplicates as there are only 14 airlines from 29 models. I would have loved a continental globe and evoblue United 788 but it was just two new ones which sucked. Hopefully they get around to Ethiopian as I adore their 359s, and 789s they made (hopefully a 35k can be made without a sticker).
